It is worth noting that as of the end of 2020, the Daily Journal did not hold any shares in Alibaba.

When asked about this issue by the media, Munger responded, \"The Daily Journal needs to hold a certain amount of securities as cash equivalents. Generally, Treasury Bond is used as cash equivalents. However, due to the recent low returns on Treasury Bond, we decided to switch to investing in common stocks. However, unless the long-term prospects of these common stocks are promising, they are not considered excellent cash equivalents.\" Munger added, \"Currently, a minor part of the Daily Journal's cash equivalents consist of Alibaba's common stock.\"

Munger's \"small portion\" refers to about 19%. The published holdings show that, besides Alibaba, the Daily Journal mainly holds...Bank of America、Wells Fargo BankAs its cash equivalent, its largest holding is Bank of America, accounting for approximately 45%. Berkshire Hathaway's holdings in the financial sector account for about 30% of its total market value, and it has long-term positions in Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and USBancorp, which are listed in the table above.

Buffett's preference for bank stocks is also based on their characteristics, which are similar to \"good cash equivalents\": bank stocks are a cash cow when the US economy expands.
