The Library of Congress’s website says that the day’s designation was never changed to Presidents Day formally but is often referred to by that name because Feb. 12 is the birthday of the 16th U.S. president, Abraham Lincoln. The holiday is still often referred to as Washington’s Birthday, and it is recognized by that name at the Intercontinental Exchange Inc.-owned ICE, New York Stock Exchange.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1460,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9095821363,"gmtCreate":1644883907386,"gmtModify":1676533971279,"author":{"id":"3581743394055717","authorId":"3581743394055717","name":"Zero_onezero","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f93660d80ec28ae67a094cb5c0c44350","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581743394055717","authorIdStr":"3581743394055717"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wahahhahh","listText":"Wahahhahh","text":"Wahahhahh","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9095821363","repostId":"2211182505","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2211182505","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1644883310,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2211182505?lang=&edition=full_marsco","pubTime":"2022-02-15 08:01","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Got $5,000? While the broad market is only down in the high single digits for the year, many individual stocks have fallen 20%, 30%, or more in 2022 alone.

However, investors must recognize whether companies are falling because there have been fundamental changes in the business or just the sector at large is falling. In the case of high-growth tech stocks, the sector at large is dropping, including stock that doesn't necessarily deserve it. Both Unity (NYSE:U) and Atlassian (NASDAQ:TEAM) have reported strong earnings results, yet have fallen in price, which is why I think these are two stocks investors should consider buying during this tech stock sell-off.

A gaming giant

Gaming stocks have a bright future ahead of them because of how big the space is expected to grow. Twenty years ago, the gaming industry was worth just $15 billion. Now, it is worth over 10 times that with 2.6 billion gamers. More importantly, gaming is expected to be the fastest-growing market in media in the future, and Unity could be one company that reaps major benefits.

Unity's platform allows developers to create, operate, and monetize video games -- competing with Epic Games' Unreal Engine, but Unity's platform is built on simplicity. In terms of coding, it is much easier for new and intermediate game developers to build with Unity compared to the Unreal Engine, and this gives Unity a leg up. If the gaming industry is expected to grow rapidly, there will undoubtedly be many new developers looking to start producing games, and with Unity's simpler platform, it could be the go-to engine to power the next generation of games.

Unreal does have Blueprints -- plug-and-play models that make it easier for non-coders to create games on its platform -- but that could diminish the uniqueness of a developer's game if multiple developers use similar Blueprints. For creators who want to code and develop their own games, Unity is typically thought of as the go-to platform, and this position has allowed them to capture impressive growth.

The company grew revenue 43% year over year (YOY) in Q4 to $314 million. This was driven by 49% YOY growth in its Create Solutions -- reinforcing Unity's position as the leader for new developers.

The company lost $533 million in 2021, but with $1.7 billion in cash and short-term investments on the balance sheet, the company has time before its profitability jeopardizes the company. Unity is relatively highly valued, but this valuation has fallen to a much more reasonable level over the past few months.

It currently trades at 27 times sales -- higher than other gaming companies like Roblox, which trades at 19 times sales -- but this has fallen from 50 times sales just a few months ago. These prices are much more appealing than in past months, and with shares down 46% from their all-time highs, I think Unity could be a great stock to buy today.

The team facilitator

Atlassian also had a strong quarter, which it reported on January 27, 2022, where it beat both the top and bottom lines. The company's revenue soared 37% YOY to $689 million in its second fiscal quarter, and its net income declined sharply from $622 million in the year-ago quarter to $72 million in Q2. Granted, the company's year-ago net loss was driven higher by negative changes in convertible senior notes, but even excluding these changes, the company's net loss declined from $83 million.

Atlassian is a dominant leader in the team management space, helping over 225,000 customers work and collaborate more efficiently. It has been making a drastic shift, however, from on-premise tools to cloud-based tools. Atlassian stopped selling its on-premise licenses in early 2021 and has focused on encouraging a shift to cloud-based operations. This strategy has been quite successful: In its most recent quarter, its cloud revenue grew 58% YOY, jumping from 46% to 53% of revenue.

Atlassian has fallen over 30% off its all-time high set in October 2021, largely caused by interest rate and inflation fears that have battered tech stocks over the past several months. Considering this market leader is still growing rapidly despite its industry leadership, the company will likely continue to succeed in lieu of these risks.

Like Unity, shares are highly valued, but many project management companies trade at premiums. Monday.com -- an Atlassian competitor -- trades at 28 times sales, not much lower than Atlassian's valuation of 33 times sales. The team management space will continue growing as the world becomes more globally interconnected, which is why I would be willing to buy more shares, with shares 30% cheaper today.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Got $5,000? In a broad example, the Invesco Solar Portfol","content":"

Renewable energy stocks haven’t had a great 12 months. In a broad example, the Invesco Solar Portfolio ETF has lost nearly half of its value over the past year.

Two major factors have contributed to the decline in value for many renewable energy stocks. For one, the wind and solar industries haven’t received the sorts of subsidies that traders were hoping for from the Biden Administration.

For another, many green energy companies don’t generate much in the way of near-term profits or cash flows. Thus, they’ve gotten caught up in the broad market-based selling around all sorts of speculative growth companies.

It’s certainly not all blue skies ahead for the renewable energy industry. Shortcomings — particularly as it relates to lack of storage capacity — have become painfully apparent in recent months.

Look at thespiraling electricity crisisthis winter in Europe for one example. Still, after seeing many renewable energy stocks drop by 50% or more, it’s time to take a fresh look.

Here are seven names that could stand out, even during this volatile period for the renewable energy industry:

Sunrun

First Solar

NextEra

Consolidated Edison

Ormat Technologies

Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure

General Electric

Sunrun

Source: IgorGolovniov / Shutterstock.com

Solar energy stocks were blazing hot at the beginning of the Biden Administration. Between the November 2020 election and Inauguration Day 2021, the price of Sunrun stock soared almost 52%.

Particularly with Democrats in control of the House of Representatives and Senate, in addition to the presidency, a robust era of clean energy spending was supposed to commence.

However, there’s been limited legislative traction for green energy. Much of Washington D.C.’s attention has understandably turned to more immediate issues such as dealing with the societal and economic impacts of the Covid-19 crisis.

Attempts at a grand series of Build Back Better infrastructure bills have gotten pruned down to a much-smaller package.

This has hit the solar industry hard with smaller, more-speculative names like SunRun getting walloped. RUN stock is down nearly 70% over the past year.

Sunrun operates in the home solar space and has shown incredible growth — north of 30% — despite already having a large installed base.

However, Sunrun has gotten hit on all fronts. The lack of expected subsidy support has dimmed near-term expectations. Meanwhile, supply chain and inflation issues are a threat to crush profit margins.

In addition, the company borrowed heavily during brighter times and now faces growing investor skepticism around its balance sheet.

There’s plenty of risk at SunRun to be sure. However, with the stock down from a 52-week high of $85 to just $25 now, RUN stock is one of the highest-voltage ways to get exposure to a potential solar industry rebound.

FirstSolar

Source: IgorGolovniov / Shutterstock.com

First Solar is a more conservative way to play the solar industry. It is one of the leading manufacturers of panels.

It’s not nearly as much of a growth play as something like Sunrun. However, it’s actually highly profitable, which is something of a rarity in the solar industry at the moment.

The company will have earned roughly $3.50 per share for full-year 2021 once it announces results later this month. That will put the stock around 20x full-year 2021 earnings.

Analysts see First Solar’s earnings dropping in 2022. After that, however, the consensus has 2023 earnings recovering to 2021 levels, giving First Solar a solid base of profitability in the intermediate term.

Some of First Solar’s strategic advantage is due to using a differentiated technology for making its panels as opposed to commodity producers overseas.

Another element of its success came from the Trump Administration’s move to slap tariffs on imported solar panels. Biden’s team recently announced that it will easebut not altogether eliminatethese tariffs.

That’s an additional win for First Solar, which has invested heavily in its Ohio-based manufacturing facilities.

NextEra

Source: madamF / Shutterstock.com

Another way to get involved in the renewable energy wave is through power utilities. Not all utilities have a strong renewable energy angle. A few stand out, however. Florida-based NextEra is one of the leaders in solar power deployment nationally.

It does have a traditional regulated utility business that offers stable predictable cash flows.

Where things get more exciting is with its separate arm in the construction and design of large-scale renewable power projects around the country. This gives NextEra an attractive source of additional income.

These development projects tend to be in a competitive market and thus can earn higher returns on equity than traditional utility power where returns are generally set by state regulators.

Additionally, NextEra has benefited in a huge way from passive index fund flows. NextEra scores highly on environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards and thus is a leading investment for many funds in the socially-conscious, green, and millennial categories.

As more and more money floods into these ESG-type investments, NextEra should be one of the largest recipients of these inflows.

Consolidated Edison

Source: Pand P Studio / Shutterstock.com

Consolidated Edison is another of the pioneers in the renewable utility space. The New York City power company is one of the world’s oldest power utilities.

Even with its storied history, it has managed to keep up with the times. Indeed, today, it’s now the second-largest operator of utility-scale solar power in the U.S.

That’s good in its own right. Given the political climate on the East Coast, the renewable focus is particularly useful. ConEd is already ahead of the curve in terms of upping its investments in green energy while other utilities will have to rush to meet phase-outs around the use of dirtier fuels.\\

From an investor’s perspective, ConEd is a classic growth and income holding. The company has increased its dividend for 48 years in a row, making it one of the few Dividend Aristocrats in the power utility sector. ED stock has delivered steadily rising dividends and some capital appreciation for decades, and its quick adoption of renewables should keep that streak going for many years to come.

Ormat Technologies

Source: riekephotos / Shutterstock.com

Ormat Technologies is the global leader in geothermal power generation. The company was founded way back in 1965 and has developed more than 190 power plants over the decades. It has been in the green energy game for a long time, giving it a level of domain expertise and cyclical knowledge that most newer rivals don’t yet possess.

For a long time, analysts viewed geothermal as a fringe alternative in the power generation business. However, it has really had its moment to shine over the past few years. That’s due to geothermal’s much higher reliability. Geothermal is almost always available, making it a baseload generator that doesn’t experience the sorts of drastic fluctuations in supply that you see with wind or solar.

Sure, geothermal has drawbacks. It is often in remote locations, costs can be somewhat unattractive at times, and it’s harder to build at vast scale compared to other alternatives. However, in a world that is rapidly discovering some drawbacks with intermittent green power sources, geothermal has carved out a solid space for itself.

Ormat in particular is profitable and has an attractive business outlook. ORA stock was fairly quiet between the mid-2000s and 2015. However, since then, shares as much as quintupled before hitting their peak in 2021. Since then, like so many growth stocks, Ormat’s shares have sharply from their peak. However, the long-term trajectory should keep pointing upward.

Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure

Source: Chart by Josh Enomoto

One of the more interesting trends in natural resources of the past decade has been royalty companies. Specialty finance firms will provide financing to an oil & gas or mining company, and, in return, get a stream of mineral production once the project comes online.

Atlantica is offering investors a similar sort of structure in the renewable energy space. It finances renewable energy projects that are set to be built. After the renewable power generation asset is up and running, Atlantica offloads energy to end purchasers and gets to keep a favorable spread. This gives investors a royalty structure that should deliver steadier returns and a solid dividend from what has historically been a volatile industry.

Atlantica does have some other assets as well, namely investments in water, transmission lines, and natural gas. However, roughly 75% of its assets are in renewables such as wind and geothermal. AY stock currently offers a 5.5% dividend yield, making it an interest choice for green energy investors that also want some immediate income.

General Electric

Source: testing / Shutterstock.com

Finally, for investors that want a broader industrial play with emphasis on green energy exposure, don’t forget about GE.

General Electric has been on a multi-year journey to turn its business around and rectify the errors of past management teams. This transformation continues at aggressive speed under star CEO Larry Culp. Shortcomings — particularly as it relates to lack of storage capacity — have become painfully apparent in recent months.Look at thespiraling electricity crisisthis winter in Europe for one example. Still, after seeing many renewable energy stocks drop by 50% or more, it’s time to take a fresh look. Here are seven names that could stand out, even during this volatile period for the renewable energy industry:SunrunFirst SolarNextEraConsolidated EdisonOrmat TechnologiesAtlantica Sustainable InfrastructureGeneral ElectricSunrunSource: IgorGolovniov / Shutterstock.comSolar energy stocks were blazing hot at the beginning of the Biden Administration. Between the November 2020 election and Inauguration Day 2021, the price of Sunrun stock soared almost 52%.Particularly with Democrats in control of the House of Representatives and Senate, in addition to the presidency, a robust era of clean energy spending was supposed to commence. However, there’s been limited legislative traction for green energy. Much of Washington D.C.’s attention has understandably turned to more immediate issues such as dealing with the societal and economic impacts of the Covid-19 crisis.Attempts at a grand series of Build Back Better infrastructure bills have gotten pruned down to a much-smaller package. This has hit the solar industry hard with smaller, more-speculative names like SunRun getting walloped. RUN stock is down nearly 70% over the past year.Sunrun operates in the home solar space and has shown incredible growth — north of 30% — despite already having a large installed base. However, with the stock down from a 52-week high of $85 to just $25 now, RUN stock is one of the highest-voltage ways to get exposure to a potential solar industry rebound.FirstSolarSource: IgorGolovniov / Shutterstock.comFirst Solar is a more conservative way to play the solar industry. That will put the stock around 20x full-year 2021 earnings.Analysts see First Solar’s earnings dropping in 2022. After that, however, the consensus has 2023 earnings recovering to 2021 levels, giving First Solar a solid base of profitability in the intermediate term. Some of First Solar’s strategic advantage is due to using a differentiated technology for making its panels as opposed to commodity producers overseas.Another element of its success came from the Trump Administration’s move to slap tariffs on imported solar panels. Biden’s team recently announced that it will easebut not altogether eliminatethese tariffs. That’s an additional win for First Solar, which has invested heavily in its Ohio-based manufacturing facilities.NextEraSource: madamF / Shutterstock.comAnother way to get involved in the renewable energy wave is through power utilities. Not all utilities have a strong renewable energy angle. A few stand out, however. Florida-based NextEra is one of the leaders in solar power deployment nationally. It does have a traditional regulated utility business that offers stable predictable cash flows.Where things get more exciting is with its separate arm in the construction and design of large-scale renewable power projects around the country. This gives NextEra an attractive source of additional income. These development projects tend to be in a competitive market and thus can earn higher returns on equity than traditional utility power where returns are generally set by state regulators.Additionally, NextEra has benefited in a huge way from passive index fund flows. NextEra scores highly on environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards and thus is a leading investment for many funds in the socially-conscious, green, and millennial categories. As more and more money floods into these ESG-type investments, NextEra should be one of the largest recipients of these inflows.Consolidated EdisonSource: Pand P Studio / Shutterstock.comConsolidated Edison is another of the pioneers in the renewable utility space. The New York City power company is one of the world’s oldest power utilities.Even with its storied history, it has managed to keep up with the times. Indeed, today, it’s now the second-largest operator of utility-scale solar power in the U.S.That’s good in its own right. Given the political climate on the East Coast, the renewable focus is particularly useful. ConEd is already ahead of the curve in terms of upping its investments in green energy while other utilities will have to rush to meet phase-outs around the use of dirtier fuels.\\From an investor’s perspective, ConEd is a classic growth and income holding. The company has increased its dividend for 48 years in a row, making it one of the few Dividend Aristocrats in the power utility sector. ED stock has delivered steadily rising dividends and some capital appreciation for decades, and its quick adoption of renewables should keep that streak going for many years to come.Ormat TechnologiesSource: riekephotos / Shutterstock.comOrmat Technologies is the global leader in geothermal power generation. Geothermal is almost always available, making it a baseload generator that doesn’t experience the sorts of drastic fluctuations in supply that you see with wind or solar.Sure, geothermal has drawbacks. It is often in remote locations, costs can be somewhat unattractive at times, and it’s harder to build at vast scale compared to other alternatives. However, in a world that is rapidly discovering some drawbacks with intermittent green power sources, geothermal has carved out a solid space for itself.Ormat in particular is profitable and has an attractive business outlook. ORA stock was fairly quiet between the mid-2000s and 2015. However, since then, shares as much as quintupled before hitting their peak in 2021. Since then, like so many growth stocks, Ormat’s shares have sharply from their peak. However, the long-term trajectory should keep pointing upward.Atlantica Sustainable InfrastructureSource: Chart by Josh EnomotoOne of the more interesting trends in natural resources of the past decade has been royalty companies. Specialty finance firms will provide financing to an oil & gas or mining company, and, in return, get a stream of mineral production once the project comes online.Atlantica is offering investors a similar sort of structure in the renewable energy space. It finances renewable energy projects that are set to be built. After the renewable power generation asset is up and running, Atlantica offloads energy to end purchasers and gets to keep a favorable spread. This gives investors a royalty structure that should deliver steadier returns and a solid dividend from what has historically been a volatile industry.Atlantica does have some other assets as well, namely investments in water, transmission lines, and natural gas. However, roughly 75% of its assets are in renewables such as wind and geothermal. AY stock currently offers a 5.5% dividend yield, making it an interest choice for green energy investors that also want some immediate income.General ElectricSource: testing / Shutterstock.comFinally, for investors that want a broader industrial play with emphasis on green energy exposure, don’t forget about GE.General Electric has been on a multi-year journey to turn its business around and rectify the errors of past management teams. This transformation continues at aggressive speed under star CEO Larry Culp. GE is unloading its large aircraft leasing business and has several more asset divestures and spins on the way. It’s a complicated company, and the name GE leaves many investors with a bad taste. However, operating results are picking up steam and analysts see it as quite cheap. Morningstar’s Joshua Aguilar currently pegsfair value at $133versus a current share price around $100. That’s an attractive discount, and GE stock gives investors exposure to solid power assets such as its wind turbines and power grid systems solutions.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":589,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9096905074,"gmtCreate":1644277980913,"gmtModify":1676533906884,"author":{"id":"3581743394055717","authorId":"3581743394055717","name":"Zero_onezero","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f93660d80ec28ae67a094cb5c0c44350","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581743394055717","authorIdStr":"3581743394055717"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hi","listText":"Hi","text":"Hi","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9096905074","repostId":"2209370821","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":699,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9098568384,"gmtCreate":1644190566179,"gmtModify":1676533896913,"author":{"id":"3581743394055717","authorId":"3581743394055717","name":"Zero_onezero","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f93660d80ec28ae67a094cb5c0c44350","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581743394055717","authorIdStr":"3581743394055717"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Done Even though Wall Street analysts and investment banks are best-known for cheering on innovation, there are instances where they expect well-known stocks to head lower.

Based on the lowest published price target from Wall Street, the following three stocks are expected to plunge between 42% and 92% in 2022.

Tesla Motors: Implied decline of 92%

It likely comes as no surprise that electric vehicle (EV) kingpin Tesla Motors (NASDAQ:TSLA) is a highly polarizing stock among Wall Street analysts. While some believe the company could nearly double in value from the $829 a share it closed at on Jan. 27, Gordon Johnson at GLJ Research foresees Tesla falling more than 90%, based on his price target of $67 for the company.

To be fair, Tesla has done a lot of things right. CEO Elon Musk built the company from the ground-up to mass production. Tesla is the first automaker in more than five decades to successfully enter the auto market and reach mass production.

Tesla has also had no issues with consumer demand, as evidenced by its production ramp and deliveries. When 2021 began, Tesla was expected to be in the neighborhood of 750,000 EV deliveries for the year. But when the curtain closed, the world's most valuable automaker had delivered more than 936,000 EVs. With the gigafactory in Austin, Texas, set to open soon, Tesla will have plenty of opportunity to increase production to meet growing consumer EV demand.

But there are plenty of reasons to be skeptical of Tesla and its $833 billion valuation. For example, even though Elon Musk's innovation has been a driving force behind his company's success, he's also been something of a liability. Musk's social media presence has previously got him in trouble with regulators, and his forecasted timeline for new product rollouts is almost always far too ambitious. Most new vehicles roll off the assembly line later than expected. Additionally, the company's full self-driving (FSD) software remains something of a work in progress, despite Musk touting FSD's potential for more than five years.

Another clear issue is Tesla's valuation. Auto stocks are traditionally valued at single-digit price-to-earnings (P/E) ratios to reflect their generally high debt levels and the cyclical nature of the auto industry. Tesla has consistently sported a forward-year P/E ratio in the triple digits.

With other major automakers spending tens of billions of dollars on EV and battery research, it's likely that Tesla's competitive edge will shrink over time, as well. While a $67 price target is probably too bearish given Tesla's current competitive advantages, I do believe downside is warranted.

Moderna: Implied decline of 42%

A second extremely popular stock one Wall Street investment bank believes will plunge in 2022 is biotech stock Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA). According to analyst Mani Foroohar of SVB Leerink, Moderna is on track to hit $86 this year, which implies downside of 42% in the company's shares.

Most people are probably familiar with Moderna given the role it's played in combatting the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The company's vaccine, mRNA-1273, produced a 94.1% vaccine efficacy (VE) in U.S. clinical trials, which were reported in November 2020. To date, it's one of only three vaccines to have generated a VE of 90% or higher. Although VE isn't the only measure of success for COVID-19 vaccines, it's the headline figure a lot of people are using when deciding which vaccines or booster shot to receive.

To add, the mutability of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 is a potential positive for Moderna. While we'd prefer to see COVID-19 go away completely or mutate into less-severe forms, new variants of the disease provide Moderna with recurring revenue opportunities, either with booster shots or variant-specific vaccines.

However, competition among COVID-19 treatments is only growing. Aside from COVID-19-specific vaccines still in development, competitors are working on influenza/COVID-19 combination vaccines that could prove more appealing. Also, oral treatments are in the works for a handful of companies. This all brings into question how long Moderna can hang onto its share of COVID-19 treatment revenue.

What's more, Moderna's only source of recurring revenue is mRNA-1273. Even with shares of the company retracing 70% from an all-time high, investors are still paying $60 billion for a company that has only one therapy generating sales. In my view, it makes Moderna a risky bet, even after its significant pullback.

Transocean: Implied decline of 69%

A third popular stock with the potential to plunge in 2022 is offshore oil-drilling company Transocean (NYSE:RIG). Despite its shares falling 98% since peaking in 2007, one Wall Street investment bank foresees Transocean hitting $1 per share this year, implying further downside of 69% from where it closed on Jan. 27.

If there is good news for the company, it's that oil prices are soaring. West Texas Intermediate crude and Brent crude recently surpassed $87/barrel and $90/barrel, respectively. Although deepwater drilling, which is what Transocean specializes in, can be quite costly, the highest price for crude since 2014 offer more than enough incentive for exploration and production (E&P) companies to contract with Transocean at these prices.

The company's backlog also appears to suggest that E&P companies are comfortable with crude oil prices for the foreseeable future. Transocean ended 2021 with a $7.1 billion contract backlog, which equates to almost three years' worth of revenue.

However, the big concern for Transocean is the company's balance sheet. At the end of September, it had $900 million in cash and cash equivalents and $7.3 billion in total debt. With the Federal Reserve set to begin raising lending rates, highly indebted companies like Transocean are getting put under the microscope by Wall Street.

Furthermore, Transocean's deepwater rig utilization rates aren't that impressive. Even with higher crude prices and contract dayrates improving, total fleet utilization was just 53% in the third quarter, which was down from 65% in Q3 2020. There's clearly concern from E&P companies about making new multiyear commitments with the pandemic still ongoing.

While I don't expect the most bearish outlook of a $1 price target to come to fruition, it's hard to see Transocean's shares gaining much traction without a significant debt reduction and/or vast improvement in rig utilization.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Stocks That Can Plunge 42% to 92% in 2022, According to Wall Street
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Stocks That Can Plunge 42% to 92% in 2022, According to Wall Street\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-31 21:36 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
For more than a century, the stock market has been a wealth-building machine. With the Federal Reserve set to begin raising lending rates, highly indebted companies like Transocean are getting put under the microscope by Wall Street.Furthermore, Transocean's deepwater rig utilization rates aren't that impressive. Even with higher crude prices and contract dayrates improving, total fleet utilization was just 53% in the third quarter, which was down from 65% in Q3 2020. There's clearly concern from E&P companies about making new multiyear commitments with the pandemic still ongoing. While I don't expect the most bearish outlook of a $1 price target to come to fruition, it's hard to see Transocean's shares gaining much traction without a significant debt reduction and/or vast improvement in rig utilization.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":420,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9093128192,"gmtCreate":1643562122648,"gmtModify":1676533831386,"author":{"id":"3581743394055717","authorId":"3581743394055717","name":"Zero_onezero","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f93660d80ec28ae67a094cb5c0c44350","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581743394055717","authorIdStr":"3581743394055717"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9093128192","repostId":"2207441801","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":422,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":135527546,"gmtCreate":1622171426085,"gmtModify":1704180827548,"author":{"id":"3581743394055717","authorId":"3581743394055717","name":"Zero_onezero","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f93660d80ec28ae67a094cb5c0c44350","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581743394055717","authorIdStr":"3581743394055717"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good to know. So, most fintechs tend to partner with licensed banks to do things like hold the deposits they gather from their members (unlicensed banks can't hold deposits on their balance sheet) and originate loans for them in some cases. This typically involves some kind of revenue share. Additionally, because banks can't use deposits to fund loan originations, they have to use higher-cost funding.

One of the main benefits of the bank charter will be enabling SoFi to lower its interest expense, which is the interest SoFi pays on the debt it uses to fund assets such as loans. According to its recent regulatory filing, the company's current funding sources for originations include securitization debt and funding from warehouse facilities. SoFi pays interest on this funding of nearly 4% and 1.6%, respectively. This funding is also not as reliable in certain market conditions. Currently, most savings and checking accounts pay out very little interest, and even a lot of high-yield savings accounts pay much less interest than these higher-cost sources.

With the bank charter, SoFi will be able to transfer all of the deposits in its cash management SoFi Money product that it currently sends to a partner bank back into SoFi to hold. SoFi Money accounts topped 1.16 million at the end of the third quarter, so they should offer a decent source of funding that will also grow in the future. This will significantly lower SoFi's cost of funding loan originations, or it can maintain both sources if it needs them to grow.

Additionally, having a bank charter will make it easier for SoFi to hold loans on its balance sheet, whether that means holding loans for longer periods or to completion. Most fintech consumer lenders sell loans they originate right away to an investor or bank for a fee. But when you hold a loan on the balance sheet, you can collect interest payments every month, and that loan ends up being more profitable over its life, as long as it doesn't go into default.

With a bank charter, SoFi will have more clarity from a regulatory perspective on its operations. It is also another signal to investors that SoFi is a trustworthy lender. While the company has a good reputation, given that it has been originating loans for several years now, I think investors see it as a good sign that a fintech company is willing to take some risk on its balance sheet, although I am not yet sure how long SoFi plans to hold its loans.

In its first presentation, management showed the impact of the bank charter on earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA). While the numbers have likely changed, as this presentation is now roughly a year old, I think this is illustrative of how helpful the bank charter can be.

SoFi January 2021 investor presentation.

Hitting a key milestone

While the bank charter has been long anticipated, there was some question over it, given some of the regulatory uncertainty in the banking arena in Washington over the past few months. It is also no easy feat for any fintech to obtain a bank charter. The charter will make the deposits that SoFi gathers much more valuable and greatly help the unit economics in its lending division. Ultimately, expect revenue and EBITDA to be higher this year and going forward with the bank charter now secured.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Here's Why SoFi's Long-Awaited Bank Charter Will Make the Business Better
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nHere's Why SoFi's Long-Awaited Bank Charter Will Make the Business Better\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-23 08:39 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
After a difficult few months for the stock, SoFi (NASDAQ:SOFI) shareholders got some welcome news recently when regulators approved the company's application to become a bank. While the numbers have likely changed, as this presentation is now roughly a year old, I think this is illustrative of how helpful the bank charter can be.SoFi January 2021 investor presentation.Hitting a key milestoneWhile the bank charter has been long anticipated, there was some question over it, given some of the regulatory uncertainty in the banking arena in Washington over the past few months. It is also no easy feat for any fintech to obtain a bank charter. The charter will make the deposits that SoFi gathers much more valuable and greatly help the unit economics in its lending division. Ultimately, expect revenue and EBITDA to be higher this year and going forward with the bank charter now secured.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":376,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":172693404,"gmtCreate":1626957044108,"gmtModify":1703481290249,"author":{"id":"3581743394055717","authorId":"3581743394055717","name":"Zero_onezero","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f93660d80ec28ae67a094cb5c0c44350","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581743394055717","authorIdStr":"3581743394055717"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like
