Starting Monday, Shanghai residents will no longer require a negative Covid test result to enter outdoor venues including parks and scenic attractions.

Investment bank Morgan Stanley(AANXX)has upgraded its view of the future performance of Chinese equities for the first time in nearly two years.

“Multiple positive developments alongside a clear path set towards reopening warrant an upgrade and index target increases for China,” its analysts said in a research note on Monday. They raised China equities to “overweight” from “equal-weight,” a position they had held since January 2021.

“We are at the beginning of a multi-quarter recovery in earnings revisions and valuations,” they said.

The bank recommended that investors increase their investment allocations to offshore Chinese equities. MSCI China, an index tracking major Chinese stocks available to global investors, will hit 70 levels by the end of 2023, according to Morgan Stanley. Starting Monday, Shanghai residents will no longer require a negative Covid test result to enter outdoor venues including parks and scenic attractions.Investment bank Morgan Stanley(AANXX)has upgraded its view of the future performance of Chinese equities for the first time in nearly two years.“Multiple positive developments alongside a clear path set towards reopening warrant an upgrade and index target increases for China,” its analysts said in a research note on Monday. They raised China equities to “overweight” from “equal-weight,” a position they had held since January 2021.“We are at the beginning of a multi-quarter recovery in earnings revisions and valuations,” they said. The bank recommended that investors increase their investment allocations to offshore Chinese equities. MSCI China, an index tracking major Chinese stocks available to global investors, will hit 70 levels by the end of 2023, according to Morgan Stanley. the mid term, Alibaba’s (BABA)share price has had a habit of moving in step with earnings revisions but during the past 3 months, this relationship has weakened.During the period, Alibaba’s forecast for adj EPS in FY2024 has been cut by 4%, yet the share price has dropped by 34%.Moving forward, how can this be corrected? J.P. Morgan’sAlex Yao has an idea. The analyst believes “sentiment-driven fund flow is the current key share price driver and revenue recovery is the key determinant of market sentiment.”That is a bit of problem, then. Because Yao expects weak China consumption in the September quarter (F2Q23) to impact the revenue outlook.Since late August, Covid has once again been a disruptive force in a host of cities across China, and as such, Yao expects “limited improvement” in Alibaba’s core-core CMR (customer-management revenue) compared to the June quarter. The analyst sees the September quarter’s CMR falling by 4% from the same period last year, hardly any better than the June quarter’s 5% drop. On account of “low visibility of consumer sentiment improvement” or any relaxion of the Covid policies, the decline will continue in the December quarter, albeit at a slower pace (Yao expects a 2% year-over-year decline vs. anticipation of a positive turn previously). In contrast, given Alibaba’s firm commitment to cost-cutting and efficiency-improving measures, Yao sees “potential upside to consensus bottom-line projections.”However, that might not have enough of a positive effect right now. “Alibaba’s weakening revenue outlook in the near term could continue to weigh on the share price despite an unchanged, or even potentially better, profit outlook,” the analyst said, before summing up, “Nonetheless, we believe Alibaba’s share price is attractive on a 12-month view on 1) profit growth recovery to 20%+ in FY2024, 2) current consensus FY2024 PE of only 9x.”To this end, Yao rates BABA shares an Overweight (i.e., Buy) along with a $135 price target. This figure leaves room for 12-month share appreciation of ~69%. Yao’s rating stays an Overweight (i.e., Buy).Overall, Wall Street takes a bullish stance on Alibaba shares. 17 Buys and 1 Sell issued over the previous three months, making the stock a Strong Buy. Meanwhile, the $149.06 average price target suggests ~86% upside from current levels.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"09988":0.9,"BABA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":708,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9911924637,"gmtCreate":1664120818529,"gmtModify":1676537393071,"author":{"id":"3581858097029893","authorId":"3581858097029893","name":"junhan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/698d53c2d39a86d250bbf731023cee5f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581858097029893","authorIdStr":"3581858097029893"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$<v-v data-views=\"0\"></v-v>","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$<v-v data-views=\"0\"></v-v>","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9911924637","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":754,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":130619332,"gmtCreate":1621531590226,"gmtModify":1704359226618,"author":{"id":"3581858097029893","authorId":"3581858097029893","name":"junhan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/698d53c2d39a86d250bbf731023cee5f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581858097029893","authorIdStr":"3581858097029893"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like my comment please","listText":"Like my comment please","text":"Like my comment please","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":7,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/130619332","repostId":"1135487235","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":555,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":808645510,"gmtCreate":1627577890930,"gmtModify":1703492802779,"author":{"id":"3581858097029893","authorId":"3581858097029893","name":"junhan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/698d53c2d39a86d250bbf731023cee5f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581858097029893","authorIdStr":"3581858097029893"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment thx","listText":"Like and comment thx","text":"Like and comment thx","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":9,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/808645510","repostId":"1165497040","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":218,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9912110559,"gmtCreate":1664768537671,"gmtModify":1676537505419,"author":{"id":"3581858097029893","authorId":"3581858097029893","name":"junhan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/698d53c2d39a86d250bbf731023cee5f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581858097029893","authorIdStr":"3581858097029893"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment thx","listText":"Like and comment thx","text":"Like and comment thx","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9912110559","repostId":"2272691220","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":544,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9091830553,"gmtCreate":1643820425664,"gmtModify":1676533860189,"author":{"id":"3581858097029893","authorId":"3581858097029893","name":"junhan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/698d53c2d39a86d250bbf731023cee5f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581858097029893","authorIdStr":"3581858097029893"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment thx","listText":"Like and comment thx","text":"Like and comment thx","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9091830553","repostId":"2208368356","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2208368356","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1643804700,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2208368356?lang=&edition=full_marsco","pubTime":"2022-02-02 20:25","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Better Buy for 2022: Nu Holdings vs. Grab Holdings?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2208368356","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"These two international emerging companies look appealing, but which company would be a better buy today?","content":"

When it comes to diversifying your portfolio, you have several viable options, including geographic diversification. Buying stocks in companies that operate around the world can even out any adverse economic conditions that might only affect one country or region you care about. Inflation, for example, is running high in the U.S. But in Singapore, inflation was just 1.5% in 2021.

A couple of international stocks you might want to consider for your portfolio are Grab Holdings (NASDAQ:GRAB) or Nu Holdings (NYSE:NU). Grab is based in Singapore and is looking to become a Southeast Asian super-app. Nu Holdings -- a digital financial services company in Latin America -- is trying to fight the financial complexity that exists in the region today. Both came public via a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger in late 2021, but which company is a better buy for 2022 and beyond? Let's find out.

Grab Holdings

Grab wants to become the hub for everyday life for those living in Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia by offering services that everyone needs daily. The company's core services -- delivery and ride-hailing -- had over $2.8 billion in gross merchandise volume spent on its platform in the third quarter of 2021. Add all three of its services together and the company has 22 million monthly transacting users, leaving Grab plenty of room for growth in a Southeast Asian population of 679 million.

Grab's opportunity is extremely large, but the company has not yet proved it can take full advantage. In the most recent quarter, The company's revenue decreased 9% year over year to $157 million. Management cited short-term pandemic lockdowns in certain countries as the reason revenue fell, but some of its biggest markets -- like Singapore -- are largely open for business due to the high vaccination rates. And despite being a $21 billion company, Grab's margin profile is not good. In the first six months of 2021, the company had a gross margin of negative 28% and posted a net loss of over $1.4 billion, a figure that represents 370% of revenue.

To capitalize on the massive market opportunity and become the dominant super-app in Southeast Asia, Grab is going to need a quick turnaround. It already faces competition in the financial services business from Sea Limited and on the delivery and ride-hailing side is GoTo (a merger of two Southeast Asian behemoths Tokopedia and Gojek). If Grab disrupted both of these companies, it would be an amazing feat, but much harder to accomplish with negative gross margins and low growth.

Nu Holdings

Nu Holdings is disrupting the digital financial services industry across Latin America. The banking system in Latin America is dominated by five banks that control up to 85% of all banking revenue in Chile, Brazil, and Mexico. This dominance has resulted in almost no innovation in terms of technology, simplicity, or customer satisfaction in decades. Nu is trying to change this.

The company digitally offers users credit cards services, savings and checking accounts, loan options, investment accounts, and even insurance. These offerings appear to be popular as the three-year compound annual growth rate for customers has been 110% annually, reaching 48 million customers.

What is more important is Nu's ability to satisfy customers. The lack of innovation in the space has caused the established banks to get lots of complaints, according to Nu management. It reported that the biggest banks in the region, on average, receive 1,420 complaints per 1 million customers. Nu's customer-centric approach has resulted in less than 270 per 1 million customers.

The company has a total addressable market of over 650 million people. The digital bank is going after that market and has already started to see success. In Q3 2021, it grew its revenue 208% year over year to $481 million. Its net loss for the period was just $34 million, which grew just 5% year over year, so the company's path to profitability looks very strong.

Nu: The clear winner

Nu looks stronger than Grab in virtually every part of its business, which makes its stock a much better buy today. Nu and Grab have similar market sizes, yet Nu has robust competitive advantages, a better financial position, and much more impressive growth. Buying stocks in companies that operate around the world can even out any adverse economic conditions that might only affect one country or region you care about. Inflation, for example, is running high in the U.S. But in Singapore, inflation was just 1.5% in 2021.A couple of international stocks you might want to consider for your portfolio are Grab Holdings (NASDAQ:GRAB) or Nu Holdings (NYSE:NU). Let's find out.Image source: Getty Images.Grab HoldingsGrab wants to become the hub for everyday life for those living in Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia by offering services that everyone needs daily. The company's core services -- delivery and ride-hailing -- had over $2.8 billion in gross merchandise volume spent on its platform in the third quarter of 2021. Add all three of its services together and the company has 22 million monthly transacting users, leaving Grab plenty of room for growth in a Southeast Asian population of 679 million.Grab's opportunity is extremely large, but the company has not yet proved it can take full advantage. If Grab disrupted both of these companies, it would be an amazing feat, but much harder to accomplish with negative gross margins and low growth.Nu HoldingsNu Holdings is disrupting the digital financial services industry across Latin America. Its net loss for the period was just $34 million, which grew just 5% year over year, so the company's path to profitability looks very strong.Nu: The clear winnerNu looks stronger than Grab in virtually every part of its business, which makes its stock a much better buy today. Nu and Grab have similar market sizes, yet Nu has robust competitive advantages, a better financial position, and much more impressive growth. Nu stock does trade at 42 times sales compared to Grab's 29 times sales, but Nu's quality of operations makes that premium valuation worth paying up for. There are competitors to Nu in the digital financial services space -- mainly MercadoLibre -- but with such a large opportunity, both Nu and MercadoLibre could win. Nu's unique approach to tackling the digital financial services market has seen major success. I think that it could continue growing if the company continues to keep its customers happy and expand its product line.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GRAB":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":288,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":882998529,"gmtCreate":1631637118761,"gmtModify":1676530597590,"author":{"id":"3581858097029893","authorId":"3581858097029893","name":"junhan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/698d53c2d39a86d250bbf731023cee5f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581858097029893","authorIdStr":"3581858097029893"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment thc","listText":"Like and comment thc","text":"Like and comment thc","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":8,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/882998529","repostId":"1132829556","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1132829556","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1631633374,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1132829556?lang=&edition=full_marsco","pubTime":"2021-09-14 23:29","market":"us","language":"en","title":"ASML shares rose more than 2% to a record high","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1132829556","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"ASML shares rose more than 2% to a record high.\n\nASML Holding is a Dutch multinational company speci","content":"
ASML shares rose more than 2% to a record high.
\n

\n
ASML Holding is a Dutch multinational company specializing in developing, producing, and maintaining photolithography machines. Despite this broad drop in tech companies, many businesses are seeing strong success operationally. The share prices are sinking, but these companies continue to grow their top-line and establish their leadership roles in their respective industries.

Both UiPath (NYSE:PATH) and Twilio (NYSE:TWLO) are in this boat. Shares of both tech stocks have fallen 35% and nearly 30%, respectively, despite strong growth across their businesses. With large markets ahead of them, I think today's prices could be optimal buying opportunities to get these innovative stocks at a bargain.

1. UiPath: Bringing AI to the enterprise

We have all been doing something so tedious and repetitive at work that we wish we could simply have it magically completed. It is, after all, a huge waste of our time because we would rather work on more thought-intensive, engaging work. With artificial intelligence-powered virtual bots, UiPath is turning our wishes into commands.

The company offers automation software that can emulate a human by understanding what is on a screen, extracting data, and making critical decisions. However, this software can do it much faster than humans, making 58% fewer mistakes. UiPath uses robotic process automation (RPA) in tandem with humans to make businesses more efficient. With UiPath, real workers are not fired or eliminated but rather freed to work on more critical tasks. UiPath has saved some of its customers millions of hours and dollars, which is why over 9,600 customers use UiPath and are currently spending 44% more than they did one year ago.

The stock has not fallen because of bad operational performance. The company has brought in $602.5 million in revenue so far this year, 50% higher than the year-ago period. Shares have taken a downturn because of the major uptick in the company's net loss. In the third quarter, the company lost almost $123 million -- more than the total net loss for the first nine months of 2020. This has been because UiPath has rapidly ramped up its spending on advertising, along with research and development.

This is not without good reason, however. The company projects that its addressable market will nearly double to $30 billion by 2024. UiPath is already the industry leader in RPA, according to Gartner's Magic Quadrant, but the company is ramping up spending to make sure its competitors like Automation Anywhere do not overtake them. With the RPA market growing so rapidly over the next few years, UiPath is spending now -- rather successfully -- to obtain brand recognition as the industry begins to explode.

Here's the bottom line: UiPath is the leader in a futuristic industry that is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years. With so much investment going toward capturing this growth, along with a dominant product that has caught the eyes of NASA and Alphabet, I think that today's share prices are a gift to long-term investors.

2. Twilio: Falling victim to the tech sell-off

With over 250,000 businesses using Twilio, most of us have used its technology without even recognizing it. Anyone who has ever communicated with a food delivery driver or Lyft driver has used Twilio's services unknowingly. The company is helping other enterprises communicate within apps, allowing consumers and businesses to connect easier. These services seem to have grown even more important for Twilio's users as they are now spending 31% more today than they did one year ago with the company.

Twilio posted year-over-year revenue growth of 65% in Q3, but some of that came from its acquisitions. Although the company has consistently been able to post impressive organic growth -- something most growth-by-acquisition companies lack. In Q3, the company's revenue improved 38% year over year organically, and it has been able to organically boost its top line by 34% or more year over year for the past nine quarters.

Shares have largely been sent downward in 2021, and Twilio's major net losses haven't been helping. The company lost $224 million in Q3, with almost $170 million of that being stock-based compensation. With large markets ahead of them, I think today's prices could be optimal buying opportunities to get these innovative stocks at a bargain.Image source: Getty Images.1. UiPath: Bringing AI to the enterpriseWe have all been doing something so tedious and repetitive at work that we wish we could simply have it magically completed. UiPath has saved some of its customers millions of hours and dollars, which is why over 9,600 customers use UiPath and are currently spending 44% more than they did one year ago.The stock has not fallen because of bad operational performance. With so much investment going toward capturing this growth, along with a dominant product that has caught the eyes of NASA and Alphabet, I think that today's share prices are a gift to long-term investors.2. Twilio: Falling victim to the tech sell-offWith over 250,000 businesses using Twilio, most of us have used its technology without even recognizing it. Anyone who has ever communicated with a food delivery driver or Lyft driver has used Twilio's services unknowingly. The company is helping other enterprises communicate within apps, allowing consumers and businesses to connect easier. These services seem to have grown even more important for Twilio's users as they are now spending 31% more today than they did one year ago with the company.Twilio posted year-over-year revenue growth of 65% in Q3, but some of that came from its acquisitions. Although the company has consistently been able to post impressive organic growth -- something most growth-by-acquisition companies lack. In Q3, the company's revenue improved 38% year over year organically, and it has been able to organically boost its top line by 34% or more year over year for the past nine quarters.Shares have largely been sent downward in 2021, and Twilio's major net losses haven't been helping. The company lost $224 million in Q3, with almost $170 million of that being stock-based compensation. While this might be worrisome today, it is overshadowed by the impressive top-line growth that the company is seeing, both organically and inorganically, in this lucrative market. At 17 times sales, this stock is trading at levels not seen since mid-2020, leaving an opportunistic window for investors. The use of in-app communication will only become more prevalent as the world continues to adopt these habits, and Twilio has been and will likely continue benefiting from it. Supply Constraints Ebbing-ISM","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1149347765","media":"Reuters","summary":"U.S. manufacturing slowed in December amid some cooling in demand for goods, but supply constraints ","content":"

U.S. manufacturing slowed in December amid some cooling in demand for goods, but supply constraints are starting to ease and a measure of prices paid for inputs by factories fell by the most since early 2020 when the pandemic disrupted economic activity.

The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) said on Tuesday that its index of national factory activity fell to a reading of 58.7 last month. That was the lowest reading since last January and followed 61.1 in November.

A reading above 50 indicates expansion in manufacturing, which accounts for 11.9% of the U.S. economy. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast the index falling to 60.1.

The ISM survey's measure of supplier deliveries declined to a reading of 64.9 from 72.2 in November. A reading above 50% indicates slower deliveries to factories.

Raw materials have been in short supply as global economies rebounded from the COVID-19 pandemic. Shortages have also been exacerbated by the shift in demand to goods from service early in the pandemic. Millions of workers needed to produce and move raw materials remain sidelined.

The tentative signs of improvement in supply chains suggest inflation at the factory gate could soon begin to subside.

The survey's measure of prices paid by manufacturers tumbled to 68.2 last month, the lowest level since November 2020, from 82.4 in November. The drop was the biggest since March 2020, when mandatory closures of nonessential businesses were enforced to slow the first wave of coronavirus infections.

This supports the Federal Reserve's long-held view that the current period of high inflation was transitory. Inflation is well above the U.S. central bank's flexible 2% target.

The ISM survey's forward-looking new orders sub-index fell to a still-high reading of 60.4 from 61.5 in November. With customer inventories still depressed, the slowdown in new order growth is likely to be temporary or limited.

Factories hired more workers. That was the lowest reading since last January and followed 61.1 in November.A reading above 50 indicates expansion in manufacturing, which accounts for 11.9% of the U.S. economy. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast the index falling to 60.1.The ISM survey's measure of supplier deliveries declined to a reading of 64.9 from 72.2 in November. A reading above 50% indicates slower deliveries to factories.Raw materials have been in short supply as global economies rebounded from the COVID-19 pandemic. With customer inventories still depressed, the slowdown in new order growth is likely to be temporary or limited.Factories hired more workers. A measure of manufacturing employment rose to an eight-month high. This, together with very low first-time applications for unemployment benefits, support views that job growth accelerated in December.According to a preliminary Reuters survey of economists, nonfarm payrolls likely increased by 400,000 jobs in December after rising 210,000 in November.
