Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba released a new version of its artificial intelligence model which it claims surpasses DeepSeek's AI model across various benchmarks. In a statement, Alibaba's cloud unit introduced the new version of its Qwen large language model, known as Qwen2.5 Max. The company stated that Quen2.5 Max "achieves competitive performance against the top-tier models," referencing those from OpenAI, DeepSeek and Meta, based on benchmark tests it conducted $Alibaba(09988)$   $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$   $Alphabet(GOOG)$   $Microsoft(MSFT)$  

Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) arm of Alibaba Group Holding, is working with Chinese state media to live stream the country’s most-watched event of the year, amid increasing demand from traditional media to adopt advanced technologies in their content.  The Alibaba unit signed a deal with China Media Group (CMG), which owns state broadcaster China Central Television, to be the “exclusive partner” on cloud computing and AI for the 2025 Spring Festival Gala show, according to a statement issued by CMG on Wednesday @AyKing   @Tiger V   @TigerWire
