Slicing those equities into smaller, cheaper pieces that are more attractive to individual investors continues to prove a winning strategy. Numerous companies that have carried out splits have enjoyed notable gains.Consider that Tesla's share price jumped by 80% during the three-week period between when it announced its last stock split and when it carried it out in August 2020. The electric vehicle leader's shares took a significant jump recently following news that it's planning another split. While stock splits don't actually do anything to enhance a business's intrinsic value -- and shouldn't be the core reason for making an investment -- some industry-leading companies that are planning them will likely deliver stellar long-term performances. With that idea in mind, we asked a panel of Motley Fool contributors for their top stock-split stocks to buy this April. Their picks: Amazon, RH, and Alphabet.Image source: Getty Images. This tech leader will keep dominatingKeith Noonan (Amazon): Amazon is on schedule to carry out a 20-for-1 stock split in June -- the e-commerce and cloud-computing giant's first split since 1999. With Amazon currently trading at roughly $3,089, this move will make its shares more attractive and accessible for retail investors, and could help power short-term gains. However, I think the tech giant's long-term growth potential is even more appealing.Amazon Web Services (AWS) leads the cloud infrastructure market, and it's primed for impressive growth as more businesses carry out digital transformation initiatives and communication services increasingly rely on digital channels. Revenue from AWS soared 37% in 2021 to $62.2 billion, and the segment's operating income climbed 37% to $18.5 billion. The unit's strong earnings are giving Amazon more financial flexibility to make big investments in growing the entire business.Amazon is making massive property and equipment purchases in order to strengthen its position in e-commerce. Outside of Alibaba in China, no player in the space even comes close to rivaling the scale and infrastructure advantages that Amazon has in the category. Its incredible reach and pricing power will continue to make it very difficult for rivals to challenge its position in the space. What's more, the company's leading position in e-commerce has created growth opportunities in other categories with much higher margins. Because its marketplace is the go-to destination for online shopping, Amazon's platform is an incredibly valuable digital-advertising and data destination. The tech leader's core businesses are incredibly strong on their own, but they also act synergistically to strengthen other units, positioning Amazon fantastically to deliver long-term wins.Discounted price for this luxury brandJason Hall (RH): RH is $one of the most interesting companies I follow. It's a wonderful retailer that focuses on well-off shoppers looking for high-quality furniture. And that business has been good. Over the past decade, RH's revenues have grown by 292%. And an increasing percentage of those sales are dropping down to the bottom line. Over the same period, RH has steadily improved both its gross margin and operating margin, with the latter coming in at a juicy 25% in 2021. Even more impressive, the company's cash margin came in at 14.9% last year.RH Operating Margin (TTM) data by YChartsInvestors today can pick up shares of this luxury furniture retailer at a bargain-bin valuation. It's trading at just 14 times forward earnings, and at a price-to-earnings-growth (PEG) ratio below 1.Why is RH stock so cheap now? In part, its share price reflects the market's worries that high inflation and slowing growth will take a bite out of its profits. In addition, though, it may be because CEO Gary Friedman isn't content to rest on his laurels. He has some very big plans for the company, both with an international expansion and a move into new categories, among them, operating luxury hotels and chartering private jets and yachts. There's definitely risk with RH. These initiatives won't come cheap, and if they don't pan out, the company's impressive returns on capital will take a huge hit, as could the RH brand. But I think a lot of that risk is already priced into the stock, and in Friedman, RH has a proven, dedicated leader. And that would be the case with or without a stock split.Alphabet has a competitive moat and is selling at a bargain priceParkev Tatevosian (Alphabet): Alphabet has announced that it will undertake a 20-for-1 stock split on July 15. Investors looking for a monster stock that will be splitting can undoubtedly do worse than Alphabet. The company's Google search engine is arguably the most dominant service in existence, with a global market share of 85.5%.The search engine is the core of a business that has grown its annual revenues from $46 billion in 2012 to $258 billion in 2021. Alphabet generates most of its revenue from advertisers looking to get the attention of browsers searching the internet, folks watching YouTube videos, and people using Gmail. And even though it has achieved a massive scale, it still has room to expand.Globally, advertisers spent $763 billion in 2021 (not counting U.S. political ads), up by 22.5% from the year before. What's more, Alphabet is benefiting as a more significant share of that ad spending moves to digital channels. Marketers are showing a preference for digital advertising, primarily because of the measurement benefits. Trying to determine how many sales were driven by a billboard ad is significantly more challenging than tracking the results of ad spending on Google or YouTube. The trend is unlikely to reverse and could drive sales for Alphabet for many years.Investors can buy shares of this fantastic business at a bargain valuation, too. Alphabet is trading at a price-to-earnings ratio of 24.4 and a price-to-free-cash-flow ratio of 27.7. Both are near the lower end of the average ranges it has sold for in the last decade. Alphabet is a monster stock-split stock investors can buy now for those reasons.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GOOGL":0.9,"RH":0.9,"AMZN":0.9,"GOOG":0.9,"TSLA":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":4611,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9089323753,"gmtCreate":1649953719925,"gmtModify":1676534615388,"author":{"id":"4100143081992750","authorId":"4100143081992750","name":"fhho32","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2e9d1fc00d659255c125be74d13236ea","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100143081992750","idStr":"4100143081992750"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Yes","listText":"Yes","text":"Yes","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9089323753","repostId":"1189220790","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":4634,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9012918568,"gmtCreate":1649264654451,"gmtModify":1676534480837,"author":{"id":"4100143081992750","authorId":"4100143081992750","name":"fhho32","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2e9d1fc00d659255c125be74d13236ea","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100143081992750","idStr":"4100143081992750"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9012918568","repostId":"1120731874","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1120731874","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing tech stocks extended their selloff for a second straight day on mounting concerns over aggressive actions by the Federal Reserve to fight inflation, with minutes from the central bank's March meeting on tap.

Shares of mega-cap growth companies such as Microsoft, Apple and <a yields, bore the brunt as the benchmark 10-year yield hit a three-year high.

Fed Governor Lael Brainard said on Tuesday she expected a combination of interest rate hikes and a rapid balance But that’s old news, and the current environment is much more challenging. A point of differentiation for companies in 2022 will be the ability to keep profit margins intact or growing despite elevated inflation and slowing economic growth. Their stocks should outperform.

Companies can achieve pricing power in several different ways. A business can sell a good or service that’s vital to customers or limited in supply, giving them no option but to pay up—the product has low price elasticity, to put it in economic terms. That could be gasoline at the only station for miles, toilet paper at the grocery store, or accounting services during tax season.

The fewer direct competitors has a company has, the greater its ability to set prices. A strong brand that has particular affinity or loyalty from customers can also lead to greater pricing power. Think of the typically higher price per unit for Procter & Gamble’s (ticker: PG) Tide laundry detergent versus the equivalent store brand.

A company can also innovate and improve its offerings, increasing prices as it rolls out the upgraded offerings. If the price hikes exceed the cost of the improvements, that’s pricing power. It’s common in new versions of software, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, semiconductors, and other high tech goods and services.

Finally, companies can expand their profit margins by becoming more efficient and productive, or by leveraging economies of scale. That brings down the cost of goods sold per unit produced, and increases profits without raising prices.

Companies with pricing power are particularly attractive for the current environment, says Eric Schoenstein, chief investment officer of Jensen Investment Management.

Inflation is running at four-decade highs, affecting businesses’ input costs—investors will want to own those companies that can pass along that inflation. The new inflation dynamic comes just as economic expansion is waning, suggesting slower GDP growth ahead. Stocks of companies that can maintain and increase their profit margins in 2022 should be in demand.

“There are so many cost pressures out there these days,” says Schoenstein, whose Oregon-based firm manages about $14.5 billion. “We’re trying to find businesses that have resilience through those difficult circumstances. The ones that have already been tested and come out the other side should have the ability to do it again.”

Barron’s screened for S&P 500 companies that grew their gross margin (revenue minus the cost of goods sold, divided by revenue) from 2020 to 2021 as the economy rebounded, but also had rising, positive gross margins in at least the three years before the Covid-19 pandemic. Those that were best able to demonstrate pricing power in a 2% annual inflation environment should be better set up to do it when inflation is running above 7% too. The companies must also have been free cash flow positive in 2020 and 2021, demonstrating their businesses’ resilience through an economic downturn.

The screen yielded 27 names. As with any screen, it’s a blunt instrument that serves as a starting point for further analysis. So do healthcare firms like Merck, Zoetis , and Mettler-Toledo International . Their products and services tend to be differentiated from the competition, and rely on constant innovation and updates. Customers’ need or desire to have the latest software, semiconductors, treatments, or medical devices gives the companies pricing power and the ability to maintain profit margins even in an inflationary or decelerating-growth environment.

For McDonald’s (MCD) and Yum! Brands (YUM)—which owns KFC and Taco Bell—inflation is showing up in costs of labor, packaging, beef, and other inputs. McDonald’s overall prices rose by about 6% in the U.S. in 2021.

“We are seeing both labor and commodity inflation,” said McDonald’s CFO Kevin Ozan at a conference in March. “Our prices are set by our franchisees …We generally will take smaller, more frequent increases than less frequent large increases. And we do try to tailor all of those increases to the local market.”

Several S&P 500 industrials have been able to consistently increase their gross margins, including Rockwell Automation (ROK), General Electric (GE), and Lockheed Martin (LMT). They’re seeing higher expenses for transportation, labor, energy, semiconductors, and many raw materials like metals, resins, and industrial gases. The companies that pass the screen are employing a variety of strategies to keep their profit margins intact.Rockwell, which makes factory equipment, is increasing prices alongside its input costs. “We will introduce price increases with a strategy of offsetting what we see for cost increases,” said Nick Gangestad at a conference in March. “In the last six months, we’ve had several announced price increases.”Cintas, which provides uniform rentals, cleaning, and other office and facility services to businesses, says it is working to bring costs down via automation.“Pricing is a component of our strategy, but it is by no means the only strategy to combat inflation,” Cintas CEO Todd Schneider said on the company’s earnings call last month. “We’re taking other steps, and they almost all involve technology.”Some companies are raising prices to offset some of their higher costs, while pulling on other levers to maintain or grow profit margins. “One of the best ways to grow is, of course, innovation,” said GE CFO Carolina Dybeck Happe at the company’s March investor day. “Altogether, the work we’re doing across the company to improve volume and productivity more than offset the headwinds that you see from mix, from inflation, and that investment in growth.”","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"PH":0.9,"MTD":0.9,"GE":0.9,"MSFT":0.9,".IXIC":0.9,"IT":0.9,"ORLY":0.9,"VIX":0.9,"ROP":0.9,"YUM":0.9,"NVDA":0.9,"PTC":0.9,"MO":0.9,"ROK":0.9,"CTAS":0.9,"PKI":0.9,"ACN":0.9,"HLT":0.9,"PKG":0.9,"FISV":0.9,"MCD":0.9,"COO":0.9,"AVGO":0.9,"NQmain":0.9,"ETN":0.9,"ZTS":0.9,"GPC":0.9,".DJI":0.9,"MRK":0.9,"RMRK":0.9,"XYL":0.9,"LMT":0.9,".SPX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1808,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9018761133,"gmtCreate":1649092035280,"gmtModify":1676534449156,"author":{"id":"4100143081992750","authorId":"4100143081992750","name":"fhho32","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2e9d1fc00d659255c125be74d13236ea","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100143081992750","idStr":"4100143081992750"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Wooo","listText":"Wooo","text":"Wooo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9018761133","repostId":"1166573354","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1584,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9018761932,"gmtCreate":1649091996244,"gmtModify":1676534449148,"author":{"id":"4100143081992750","authorId":"4100143081992750","name":"fhho32","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2e9d1fc00d659255c125be74d13236ea","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100143081992750","idStr":"4100143081992750"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9018761932","repostId":"1199827359","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1199827359","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1649064072,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1199827359?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-04 17:21","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. Stocks to Watch: SRAX, Tesla, Atotech, Conformis and Nikola","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1199827359","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:Wall Street expects SRAX, Inc. And over the last three fiscal quarters, the connected-fitness business lost more than $1.1 billion. It's no wonder that shares have cratered 77% in the past 12 months. Saying that this consumer discretionary stock is going through hard times is an understatement. Demand for Peloton's high-priced equipment hasn't been as strong as management had hoped as economies reopened following lockdown measures during the pandemic. And actually making a profit, which should be the ultimate goal of any enterprise, seems unattainable anytime soon. There is a possible strategy that might increase the chances that Peloton becomes profitable. Read on to find out more. Image source: Peloton Interactive.Peloton could become a fitness platform With Peloton's current business model, it creates and owns the rights to the entire workout catalog, spanning classes in categories like cycling, running, strength, yoga, and boxing (among others). While this setup does generate a superb subscription gross margin of nearly 70%, it incurs high fixed costs to actually produce the classes ($108 million in the latest fiscal quarter). Instead of developing all of its content in-house like it has been doing up to this point, what if Peloton opened up its top-notch software to third-party fitness trainers? There are tons of independent exercise instructors out there who might benefit from gaining access to Peloton's membership base of 6.6 million people. They could provide private training classes to Peloton's subscribers using Peloton's proprietary software. Obviously, Peloton would need to make it worthwhile for independent trainers to want to be on its system. In addition to its massive existing user base, Peloton could facilitate class scheduling, payments, and discovery, all while taking a small cut of the transaction volume that happens. And the best part is that this incremental revenue would carry an extremely high margin, bringing Peloton's dream of becoming profitable closer to reality. This scenario would make Peloton a true fitness platform that could attract more subscribers and more instructors in a virtuous cycle. Exercise enthusiasts would flock to Peloton to have access to an unlimited number of classes. And trainers looking to grow their small businesses would come to Peloton for its wide reach. Meanwhile, Peloton becomes the go-to fitness operating system, benefiting from the favorable economics that this strategy can provide. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were more than 300,000 fitness trainers and instructors in the U.S. in 2020. And their median pay was roughly $40,000 per year. It's not hard to believe that many of them would gladly hop on Peloton's platform in order to boost their own prospects. Peloton has a challenging road ahead In the most recent shareholder letter, Peloton's management team indicated that the business will still be far from profitable this fiscal year, which ends on June 30. Having to deal with softening demand, as well as higher marketing expenses, creates a difficult situation to get the bottom line out of the red. Luckily, Peloton's new CEO, Barry McCarthy, has already shown a willingness to deploy an experimental, iterative, and data-driven strategy to turn things around. To my knowledge, leadership hasn't mentioned anything about opening up Peloton's software to third-party instructors who could offer classes to subscribers. But it seems like a no-brainer decision to me.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"PTON":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1699,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9018763724,"gmtCreate":1649091970313,"gmtModify":1676534449141,"author":{"id":"4100143081992750","authorId":"4100143081992750","name":"fhho32","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2e9d1fc00d659255c125be74d13236ea","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4100143081992750","idStr":"4100143081992750"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9018763724","repostId":"2224303856","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2224303856","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1649073601,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2224303856?lang=en_US&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-04 20:00","market":"us","language":"en","title":"AMD to Buy Cloud Startup Pensando for $1.9 Bln in Data Center Push","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2224303856","media":"Reuters","summary":"April 4 (Reuters) - Chip designer Advanced Micro Devices said on Monday it would acquire cloud start","content":"

April 4 (Reuters) - Chip designer Advanced Micro Devices said on Monday it would acquire cloud startup Pensando for $1.9 billion to bolster its data center products and capitalize on booming demand from cloud and enterprise sectors.

AMD said the deal value does not include working capital and other adjustments.

Pensando, which was founded in 2017 by a group of four ex-Cisco Systems Inc engineers, counts Goldman Sachs and Microsoft Corp's cloud unit Azure as its customers.

The startup makes a fully programmable processor and a software platform, which helps enterprise clients and data center customers to function more like cloud computing data centers like Amazon's Amazon Web Services.

In cloud computing, customers can order as much computing power as needed in different parts of the world with a few mouse clicks.
