Retail usually sells at the open and the institutions come in to buy the dip and accumulate throughout the day. One thing you have to remember, once an institution has taken a position in a stock it doesn’t mean they’ll stop buying completely. As investor funds keep flowing in they keep adding more shares at particular levels, this is why you see stocks with strong institutional backing bouncing off 21DMA and 50DMA powerfully. The chart is broken. I've covered this previously, but look at $XPeng Inc.(XPEV)$ chart compare to $NIO Inc.(NIO)$ and you can see that $xpev is currently in an uptrend. $nio needs to get out of the single digits before we can talk about any sustained rally.Basically put, the technicals of the stock is affecting the sentiment and that leads to ppl thinking bad stock = bad investment/company.
