WTI Crude Rises 1.7% to $99.55 a Barrel. Iran Lawmaker Proposes Permanent Ban on US- and Israel-Linked Tankers in Hormuz

A senior Iranian lawmaker said a parliamentary proposal would permanently bar oil tankers linked to the United States and Israel from passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Ebrahim Azizi, head of parliament’s National Security Committee, said vessels tied to Israel or traveling to or from it would also be banned, adding the restriction would extend to countries acting against the “resistance front.”
WTI crude rises 1.72% to $99.55 a barrel on the news.
