Chinese Share Higher, Led by Auto, Liquor Stocks -- Market Talk

0157 GMT - Chinese shares are higher in early trade. Investors are digesting the benchmark lending rates being kept unchanged for a third consecutive month. Among major companies, auto and liquor stocks are leading the gains. BYD is up 2.5%, Wuliangye Yibin is up 1.65% and Kweichow Moutai is 1.9% higher. Decliners include SMIC, which is down 1.4% and Poly Developments & Holdings, which is 0.9% lower. The Shanghai Composite Index is up 0.5% at 3257.04, the Shenzhen Composite Index is 0.8% higher, and the ChiNext Price adds 1.5%. (tracy.qu@wsj.com)
