Singapore stocks ended the week in red, following a mixed regional market, as investors awaited the US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision.
The Straits Times Index (STI), a key benchmark for the Singapore Exchange, ranged between 4,511.88 and 4,536.68 throughout the day. It ended the session at 4,531.36, down 3.78 points or 0.1% compared to Thursday's close.
In economic news, Singapore's total retail sales increased 4.5% in October on a year-on-year basis, according to data released by the Department of Statistics Singapore on Friday.
Sunpower, Bumitama Agri up nearly 5%; Frasers Property, ProNex, Hong Leong Asia up over 2%; First Reit, iFast up about 1%.
In corporate news, shares of Sunpower were up nearly 5% at the close, as its subsidiary, Sunpower International (Singapore), agreed to acquire a 15% stake in Jining Xinneng Thermal Power for around 30.2 million yuan.
First REIT rose nearly 2% on Friday's close, as it completed the divestment of Imperial Aryaduta Hotel & Country Club.
