President Donald Trump posted on social media platform X on September 3, accusing the media of treasonous reporting on the military operation in Iran and claiming that the United States possesses "virtually unlimited amounts of Mid to High Grade Ammunition, far more than we could ever use for this, or for any other War." Trump stated that the U.S. is producing munitions at unprecedented levels, stockpiling for any contingency, and has halted sales to allies, though sales will resume soon.
Trump also criticized the Biden administration for giving "Hundreds of Billions of Dollars" worth of munitions to Ukraine at no cost, far more than what the U.S. has used in Iran. He claimed that Europe would have paid for this aid if asked, and that the U.S. will now seek repayment "somewhat belatedly." In his post, Trump wrote: "we have virtually unlimited amounts of Mid to High Grade Ammunition, far more than we could ever use for this, or for any other War (which is highly unlikely!), that could improbably take place."
