Trump: Doesn't care about Iran deal, says US controls Strait

Trump's Truth Social latest posts09-02 09:13

President Donald Trump on September 2 posted on social media platform X, denying ABC News reports that he was trying to force Iran to the bargaining table. He expressed indifference to whether Iran signs an agreement, stating that the current situation—with the U.S. having almost total control of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's economy collapsing—is more favorable.

Trump wrote: “I’m not trying to force Iran to the bargaining table, as ABC Fake News reported.” “I couldn’t care less if they sign a worthless, to them, agreement.” “I like our position now much better, with almost total control of the Hormuz Strait, and their economy totally collapsing.”

He added that Iran is “just playing out the inevitable” and asked, “When are the Iranian people going to rise up and fight?” No specific evidence was provided to support his claims.
