Trump: Chicago violence out of control, calls on governor to invite federal help

Trump's Truth Social latest posts09-01

President Donald Trump posted on social media platform X on September 1, stating that violence in Chicago is unchecked and at record levels, urging Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker to invite federal intervention.

Trump wrote: "Chicago violence is unchecked and at record levels. It has never been worse! This weekend 41 people were shot, 3 DEAD. These numbers are becoming normalized. It is out of control! The city will die if the Federal Government, a fine tuned crime fighting machine, is not invited in, by the Mayor or Governor, to HELP. I am awaiting the call. Nobody should be forced to live under these conditions. Like D.C. and others, they will have almost no crime, FAST! The State and City can’t do what I do. Governor Pritzker, CALL!!!"

Trump emphasized that the federal government, as a finely tuned crime-fighting machine, could quickly improve Chicago's public safety. He criticized the state and city governments for being unable to address the crisis and reiterated his readiness to provide assistance. As of press time, the Illinois Governor's office has not publicly responded.
