President Donald Trump on September 1 spoke at the G20 Finance Ministers Meeting in Asheville, North Carolina, calling the discussions "very productive and positive." He praised the state as "a GREAT State — Strong, resilient, and filled with incredible people," while criticizing former President Joe Biden for turning his back on the state after Hurricane Helene. "As soon as I came into Office, I worked hard, and got everything done in record time," Trump said.
Trump noted that he won North Carolina three times and vowed to "always have their backs." He thanked Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for "doing a fantastic job representing the U.S.A." Trump declared: "WE ARE THE WORLD’S BIGGEST AND BEST ECONOMY, and we are keeping it that way." He urged other countries to "follow our lead, and cut Taxes, Regulations and, where possible, DRILL BABY DRILL. GROWTH, GROWTH, GROWTH." Trump concluded that the United States is leading the way and the world is watching.
