President Donald Trump announced on social media platform X on September 1 that he has informed Andy Barr, who is running for the U.S. Senate from Kentucky, of his approval of $9.1 million for severe storms, winds, flooding, landslides, and mudslides that the state is recovering from.

In his post, Trump wrote: "I just informed Andy Barr, who is running to be the next Senator from the incredible Commonwealth of Kentucky, that I am approving 9.1 Million Dollars for severe storms, winds, flooding, landslides, and mudslides, that they are recovering from." He added, "The Great People of Kentucky are resilient, smart, and tough, and I am with them all the way."

Trump also endorsed Barr, saying, "Vote for Andy Barr — He has my Complete and Total Endorsement, and he will never let you down!" Barr, currently a U.S. Representative from Kentucky, is seeking a Senate seat. The federal funds are designated for disaster recovery in affected areas.
