On September 1, President Donald Trump posted on X that “very productive and positive conversations were had today at the G20 Finance Ministers Meeting in Asheville.” He praised North Carolina as a “GREAT State — Strong, resilient, and filled with incredible people.” Trump criticized former President Joe Biden for turning his back on the state after Hurricane Helene, claiming that as soon as he took office, he “worked hard, and got everything done in record time.” He stated, “I NEVER forgot North Carolina, and never will. I WON BIG there three times, and North Carolinians know I will ALWAYS have their backs!”
Trump thanked Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who he said is “working hard for us, and doing a fantastic job representing the U.S.A.” He reiterated that the U.S. is “THE WORLD’S BIGGEST AND BEST ECONOMY” and urged other countries to follow its lead: “cut Taxes, Regulations and, where possible, DRILL BABY DRILL. GROWTH, GROWTH, GROWTH.” He concluded, “We are leading the way, and the World is watching!”
