President Donald Trump announced on social media platform X on September 1 his full endorsement of Zach Lahn, a Republican candidate for Governor of Iowa. Trump described Lahn as an "America First Patriot" and a "tremendous Candidate" who will advance policies to grow the economy, create jobs, cut taxes and regulations, promote Made in the U.S.A., and unleash American energy dominance.
In his statement, Trump highlighted Lahn's background as a sixth-generation Iowan, successful businessman, and family farmer, calling him "an incredibly effective Voice for Iowa Agriculture." Trump added that as governor, Lahn will work to safeguard elections, secure the border, stop migrant crime, ensure law and order, strengthen the military and veterans, and protect the Second Amendment. "Zach Lahn has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Governor of Iowa — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" Trump wrote.
Trump won Iowa in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 presidential elections. The endorsement is expected to bolster Lahn's campaign in the Republican primary.
