Trump: Michael Cohen has fully recanted testimony

Trump's Truth Social latest posts09-05 00:35

President Donald Trump posted on social media on September 4 that Michael Cohen, the key witness in the New York State Attorney General and Manhattan District Attorney's cases against him, has fully recanted his testimony. Trump said Cohen was "pressured" and "coerced" to say things that were not true, and thanked him for having the "wisdom and courage" to step forward.

"I am pleased to report that Michael Cohen, the Prosecution's Star Witness and, in actuality, only Witness in the New York State Attorney General and Manhattan DA Witch Hunt Cases brought against me, has just fully RECANTED his testimony," Trump wrote. "He was 'pressured' and 'coerced' to say things that were not true." Trump called Cohen's act "a Great Credit to the Justice System in New York City and State."

Trump demanded that "any remnant of those Politically Weaponized Cases against me be immediately terminated and dismissed," and accused New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg of breaking the law to prevent him from becoming president. "Such a thing can never be allowed to happen again!" Trump added.
