AFT Pharmaceuticals Signs Exclusive Japan Deal for Non-Opioid Painkiller

AFT Pharmaceuticals (ASX:AFP, NZE:AFT) entered an exclusive development, licensing, and supply agreement with Japan's Mikasa Seiyaku to develop and commercialize its non-opioid intravenous painkiller Maxigesic IV in Japan, according to a Monday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
The company will develop and supply the product, while Mikasa will oversee regulatory submissions to Japan's Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency, obtain marketing authorization and commercialize the treatment, per the filing.
The company will receive an upfront licensing fee, development milestone payments, and royalties on post-launch sales under the agreement, the filing added.
