Hong Kong SFC, AFRC Sign MoU to Enhance Regulatory Cooperation

Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission and Accounting and Financial Reporting Council signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation and information sharing between the two regulators, according to a Monday press release.
The agreement sets out arrangements for referrals, notifications and the exchange of information on matters involving listed companies, auditors, licensed firms, collective investment schemes and other regulated entities.
The regulators will coordinate on cases involving overlapping responsibilities and may conduct joint investigations or inspections in significant and urgent cases to reduce duplication and improve regulatory effectiveness.
