U.S. Prosecutors Indict Three Supermicro-Linked Individuals Over Alleged Export-Control Violations
Supermicro said the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York unsealed an indictment of three individuals associated with the company over an alleged conspiracy to commit export-control violations.The company said it is not named as a defendant in the indictment.Supermicro identified the charged individuals as Yih-Shyan “Wally” Liaw, Ruei-Tsang “Steven” Chang, and Ting-Wei “Willy” Sun.The company placed Liaw and Chang on administrative leave and ended its relationship with Sun.Supermicro said it is cooperating with the government investigation and stated the alleged conduct involved efforts to circumvent U.S. export and re-export control laws and regulations.
