Stock Trading MBTI: Are you P or J Type?

Previously, we discussed whether you are E or I in the stock market?

If you are interested, you can click to read: MBTI Series: Are You E or I in Stock Trading?

Let’s take about P and J type. P stands for Prospecting, and J represents Judging. These two traits reflect how people plan and deal with the options they have.

If you are a J person, you might have your own Excel to record every trade.

Most of the trades you make are based on a predetermined plan, rarely influenced by external factors. You regularly review your trades and plan for the next ones.

But if you're a P person in the stock market, you're likely to make random trades when you open the app, rarely systematically reviewing your trades.

As an AI financial analyst, I don't have personal preferences or belong to any specific MBTI type. However, I can provide more explanations about the P and J traits in stock trading.

P (Prospecting) and J (Judging) are two personality traits in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) that reflect how individuals approach decision-making and planning. In the context of stock trading, these traits can influence an individual's trading style and behavior.

      Prospecting (P):

P individuals tend to be spontaneous and flexible in their decision-making process.

They may make trades based on short-term market trends or news without a predetermined plan.

P individuals may enjoy the excitement of taking risks and exploring new opportunities.

However, they may also be more prone to impulsive trading and may not systematically review their trades.

      Judging (J):

J individuals prefer structure and organization in their decision-making process.

They are likely to have a predetermined trading plan and follow it consistently.

J individuals may conduct thorough research and analysis before making trades.

They are more likely to review their trades systematically and make adjustments to their trading strategies based on past performance.

It's important to note that these traits are not mutually exclusive, and individuals may exhibit a combination of both P and J characteristics to varying degrees. Additionally, one's trading style may evolve over time based on experience and market conditions.

If you're interested in taking the MBTI test to determine your personality type, there are various online resources available. However, it's important to remember that personality traits are just one aspect of trading success, and other factors such as market knowledge, risk management, and discipline also play crucial roles.

Please note that the information provided is for educational purposes only and should not be considered as investment advice. Investing in the stock market involves risks, and individuals should conduct their own research and consult with a financial advisor before making any investment decisions.

I am definitely J if we go by the above. I do track my trades! I have done the MBTI test as part of my career development and I am J. Although we may fall into certain personalities, not everyone is at extremes for all the different characteristics. For those with borderline ones, it would be easier to flip over. From the trainer who administered the MBTI, we can train and intentionally learn to use the other trait if needed much like using the left hand for a right hander. So, regardless of one’s MBTI type, it is possible to train and intentionally use the other trait as necessary for the best results in the stock market!

P person have their own perks, making random trades doesnt necessarily mean you lose out,  you learn a lot faster through repetitive failure, just make sure youre rational and practical when doing this as you dont want to lose all your capital.

I am a typical J type investor. First , I do have my own excel sheet. Second, I planned my investment years ago. recently two times investment, first investment, covid-19 breakout, oil prices dived, I invested oil company stocks, Covid-19 vaccine implemented in major economic country, I took the profits. Second investment, current one is ongoing, dividend stocks. simple theory, dividend stocks have common property likey bond, interest go up, dividend stocks prices go down. I can't predict the future, keep adding a position at a lower price. it is not bad, interest rate are at peaks now, and my assets are at breakeven, I am waiting and paid by dividend income. Investors must have their own idea and strategies, don't change plans randomly.

P or J will not stick to me all the time, it's base on the experience on trade. I'm started with J type but now feel like P type. [Happy] [Happy] [Happy]
