On weekends I don't visit JB because of the traffic snarl. It is a waste of my life since time is part of our life which whatever money saved cannot retrieve back the moment lost in huge traffic jam.

I visit during weekdays once a month to eat my favourite dishes with different taste and flavour and to do massage which is definitely less costly than in Singapore.

I dislike driving in, fear of the jam and fear of window smashing and accident which is hard to resolve n claims difficulty. End results could be troublesome if it happens.  Hence I don't do groceries and don't pump petrol.

Clothings purchase are not extremely cheaper though, so are food in restaurants unless you eat coffee shops or stalls. Dim Sum however could be cheaper if you venture beyond KSL.

Some items are in fact much cheaper than here or not available here. I tend to buy a little of these.

In general, I treat my visit as a short holiday. Occasionally I may stay overnight with family as a staycation to enjoy a different lifestyle.

Depending on each person's objectives, cost savings through petrol pump, massage, delicious seafood, dim sum and other identified groceries could or may help to defray some costly expenses here. A holistic and well planned targeted approach is worthy of the time spent in a traffic jam for some but not for all.

My personal opinion only. Best wishes always.

Should go beyond JB up north to Merlaka. Malaysia's highway allows you to test your car performance and driving skills.,😂
