One Year with the Cybertruck — A Reflection TSLA
I love my $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ Cybertruck.
I drive it every day. I’ll drive it into the dirt.
Not because it’s perfect — but because it’s mine.
But let’s be honest: Tesla under-delivered. ❌
Depreciation? Brutal.
Paid $110,000. It’s worth maybe $60,000 now.
Expected it. Accepted it. Still hurts.
Build quality? Mine’s fine. Front motor blew out in the first month. Tesla fixed it. No issues since.
Steer-by-wire? Magical. Driving feels like the future.
The real problems aren’t what’s there. It’s what’s missing. 💯
The range is a fantasy.
Originally promised far more.
In reality, I get ~250-280 miles day to day. .
And that’s babying it — no towing, no hauling, no real “truck” use.
Do truck things and the range becomes a joke.
The price?
What was once promised at ~$40K to $60k became ~$100K.
I paid it. Not a big deal.
Full Self-Driving?
Waited 7–8 months for access. Still not on par with Model 3.
Then, days after I paid $8,000 for FSD, they launched a $100/month plan.
Now giving free one-year FSD trials to new buyers for “training data.”
Early adopters = free QA testers. With no reward.
Range extender?
Cancelled. Quietly.
So if you wanted to use this truck… as a truck…
Too bad. You’re stuck with ~250 to 300 miles.

Do I regret it? Not at all.
There’s no other car I’d rather own. 🖤
But make no mistake — Tesla looks after Tesla.
And if you’re an early adopter? Expect to be the guinea pig.
I love the company. I love the mission.
But this isn’t the same Tesla that launched the Model S Plaid.
This one is bigger. Smarter. Sharper.
And a little colder.
Would I do it again?
Probably.
But with eyes a little more open.
