For me, the most important trait of a successful investor is emotional control. The market can be unpredictable & volatile, it’s easy to get caught up in fear or greed. Making decisions based on emotions usually leads to mistakes. Staying calm & sticking to a strategy, even when things get shaky, helps me stay focused on the bigger picture.

The 2nd trait is discipline. Every trader must have a plan & more importantly, stick to it. It’s tempting to deviate when opportunities or panic arise, but I’ve found that consistently following my strategy, setting clear entry and exit points and not chasing trades ensure a stable performance over time.

Lastly, portfolio & risk management are absolutely essential. Before entering any trade, I always do my homework whether that’s through fundamental analysis or technical analysis. Understanding the risk, managing position sizes & ensuring my portfolio is diversified all play a key role.
