U.S. stocks ended higher on Thursday (May 29) as shares of Nvidia gained after its quarterly results, while investors digested a late-afternoon court ruling that reinstated the most sweeping of President Donald Trump's tariffs.

Regarding the options market, a total volume of 46,622,127 contracts was traded on Wednesday, call ratio accounted for 59%.

$Nvidia(NVDA)$'s first quarter results left much to be desired, but it looks like Wall Street is shaking off the obvious bad news for now. Shares in the AI chip giant gained 3.25% on Thursday.

Nvidia said it would continue to work toward achieving a mid-70% growth profit margin late this year. The number was important to hear for Nvidia bulls, and reflects Nvidia executives' confidence in an efficient ramp-up in production of its Blackwell chip.

And Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said global demand for its AI infrastructure products is "incredibly strong."

"No beat and raise again, but good enough to avoid disappointment," HSBC analyst Ryan Mellor said in a note.

A total number of 5.79 million options related to $Nvidia(NVDA)$ was traded on Thursday, of which 59% were call options. Based on option delta volume, traders bought a net equivalent of 601,280 shares of Nvidia stock. The largest bullish delta came from buying calls.

$C3.ai(AI)$ stock surged 20.8% after the enterprise artificial intelligence software maker reported earnings that beat analysts expectations.

The company reported a loss of 16 cents a share, beating forecasts for a loss of 20 cents a share, on sales of $108.7 million, which was slightly ahead of expectations for $107.8 million.

“This was a momentum-building year for C3 AI, achieving 25% revenue growth year-over-year,” CEO Thomas Siebel said in a release accompanying the report. For the full fiscal year ending in April, revenue was $389.1 million, up 25% from the prior year. Losses per share were 41 cents.

A total number of 486,760 options related to $C3.ai(AI)$ was traded on Thursday, of which call options accounted for 82%. Bullish options related to C3.ai saw big gains on Thursday. For example, the $25.5 strike call option expiring this Friday soared 239%.
