Eat It Every Day Then: Students Slam Ex Nasi Lemak President’s Praise of HCI Lunchboxes
Hwa Chong Institution really demoralizes students at lunch. Imagine getting this kind of lunch box five times a week—nothing to look forward to during recess.
Then along comes the Prata Turned Nasi Lemak Ex President , saying:
"The food looks good to me. Must be recalling old memories from school. Meals were simpler, choices limited, portions smaller… partly because I didn’t have much money too."
If she wants to talk about the past when people had no money, then why not mention that fishermen literally caught their dinner and farmers raised their own chickens and vegetables?
If she claims today’s food looks just like what she had over 50 years ago, then shouldn’t the price also match what it cost back then? Back in her time, she didn’t have money, yet portions were bigger, the food was fresh with no premixed or preservative-loaded ingredients, and students faced far less academic stress. Meanwhile, today’s lunch box costs over $4—a premium price for a simple school canteen meal. Some people really speak without thinking.
Why doesn’t she eat this every day? Why judge by appearances without any empathy for students? I don’t think she genuinely cares about their welfare while she continues to eat, grow fatter enjoying great food…
Damn 🥲🥲🥲
