Earnings wrap for top STI index performers - SGX, OCBC, UOB, Yangzijiang

OCBC, SGX, UOB and Yangzijiang are amongst the top 8 index performers on the Straits Times Index (STI) this year. All reported earnings last night/this morning

▶Yangzijiang: reported after market a strong 1H26, with revenue up 36% year-on-year (yoy) to RMB 17.53 billion and net profit up 28.4% yoy to RMB 5.37 billion, driven by progressive construction of vessels secured at higher contract prices and a more favourable product mix

Its shipbuilding gross margin improved, while its orderbook at USD 22.4 billion as of 30 June 2026 provide revenue visibility through 2029

Its share price gapped up 7.6% to $4.25 at the open

▶SGX: reported after market a 2H26 adjusted profit of $402 million, in line with analysts' expectations and a 13% increase over the previous last year's 2H profit

The company returned the proceeds from its 7Ridge investment (Trading Technologies) disposal via a $0.125/share special dividend

🥈SGX shares are the second best performing stock on the STI with a share price return of 46.2% (as of yesterday), and jumped another 3.7% at the open to a new record high of $25.11

Consequently, SGX call warrant NFUW which was first listed on 1 April has rallied 127.4% to $0.141 given SGX's 24% increase over the same period, demonstrating the warrant's ability to magnify returns

🤖Bloomberg AskB sees the stock currently consolidating near its highs and cites its current levels of around $24.73 to watch for any re-acceleration of upward momenntum

$OCBC Bank(O39.SI)$ : currently the STI's top index performer with a 51.4% year to date gain, the bank announced pre-market a 2Q26 profit of $2.22 billion, 13% higher quarter-on-quarter and ahead of analysts' estimates

The better-than-expected results were helped by strong loan and deposit growth, increase in wealth fees as well as investment income from Great Eastern

The bank raised its guidance for FY26, forecasting higher growth in its loans and total income

🤖According to Bloomberg AskB, OCBC is seeing the strongest technical setup of the three stocks, with its price trading 11.7% above its 50-day moving average and 34% above its 200-day moving average. Its RSI stands at 66.2 based on yesterday's closing price, approaching but not yet in overbought territory (defined from 70 and higher). AskB is citing its 52-week high of $29.78 and $26.26 as key resistance and support levels to watch

🔥The stock has surpassed this resistance level this morning with a 2.8% jump to a new record high of $30.11 as of 9AM

OCBC call warrant IGBW which has been in existence since 9 April - listed for the longest time amongst all the available OCBC call warrants - is up a whopping 474% to $0.270, 13 times more than OCBC's +36.1% return over the same period

While its share price gapped down 2.7% this morning to $42.40, the stock remains the 6th best performing STI index stock with year-to-date (ytd) gains of 21.7%, behind OCBC and DBS' 34.5% ytd increase

🤖Bloomberg AskB sees its 52-week high of $45.15 as a possible resistance and $41.06 (its 50-day MA) as a possible near-term support to look out for

UOB call warrant Y2FW is up 183% to $0.167 given the shares' 15.3% climb since the warrant's first day of listing on 22 April, while UOB put warrant EPGW which listed on the same day is down 98.4% to $0.001
