CapitaLand Investment - new call warrant available ahead of tomorrow's earnings release
🆕Macquarie has listed a new $CapitaLandInvest(9CI.SI)$ (CLI) call warrant NSJW (https://warrants.com.sg/tools/livematrix/NSJW) ahead of tomorrow's earnings release
🔎According to Bloomberg AskB, investors can watch out for CLI's fee income trajectory, earnings (EDITDA) trends, and any update on the second China C-REIT listing expected by Q3 2026 - with all serving as potential share price catalysts
CLI has been a stark underperformer this year (YTD) to the Straits Times Index (STI), trading unchanged versus the STI's 23.8% YTD increase, although it outperforms the Lion-Phillip SREITS ETF's 6.5% YTD decline
The stock had traded down to a trough of $2.45 on 2 July, falling 23% from its one-year high of $3.18 on 9 February, a day before its FY25 net income which fell 70% to $145 million due to China valuation losses
📢However, recent deals announcements - including April's announcement to sell a majority stake in a Chennai tech park to Mindspace REIT for $321 million; a July report that CLI is in talks to sell its Australian corporate lending Wingate unit, and securing a $2.4 billion real estate mandate from income insurance - have helped the stock bounce 11% since its July low
Investors seeking a leveraged exposure to CLI can consider this morning's newly listed $CapitalandInvMBeCW270226(NSJW.SI)$ which is trading at $0.013 while CLI is trading at $2.72, and which will move approximately 6.8% for a 1% move in CLI shares, based on its effective gearing level as of 930AM
