HSTECH rises over 3% as Alibaba, SMIC rebound on AI optimism; Focus on 7x Long and Short HSTECH

$HSTECH(HSTECH)$ fell as much as 1% in early morning trading on Monday (7 September), pulling back after its 2.3% rally on Friday (4 September).

Correspondingly, the HSTECH 7x Short DLC (9B2W) rose by as much as 7%, while the HSTECH 7x Long DLC (SYHW) fell a similar magnitude.

$BIDU-W(09888)$ led the decline, falling approximately 6% as of 10am Singapore time. Amplifying the move, the Baidu 5x Short DLC (V2UW) climbed about 30%, while the Baidu 5x Long DLC (HVYW) fell a similar magnitude.

Automobile stocks were also among the decliners, including $XIAOMI-W(01810)$ (-4%), $BYD COMPANY(01211)$ (-2%) and XPeng (-2%).

Meanwhile, chip stocks mostly traded higher. $SMIC(00981)$ rose around 1%, which lifted the SMIC 5x Long DLC (WWZW) by ~5%, while the SMIC 5x Short DLC (9DFW) fell around the same magnitude. 

Listed on the SGX, DLCs offer investors up to 7x leveraged and inverse exposure to a wide range of selected Hong Kong, US, and Singapore stocks and indices.

Investors who are bullish can consider the Long DLCs, while those who are bearish can look to the Short DLCs to benefit from any price decline.

    Watch the spread on these 7x DLCs too. When liquidity thins, the bid ask can get ugly and exits feel way harder than the headline move

    AI optimism feels a bit overheated. SMIC up 1% while pushing 5x products is exactly how people get buried, volume needs to confirm first
