Silicon Data residual value figures show $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ GPUs are holding their value well above what typical straight-line depreciation schedules would suggest.
The NVIDIA B200 (orange) is sitting at roughly 158% of assumed purchase price about a year after mass availability. Recent Silicon Data numbers put the residual around $71K against the chart's $45K assumed purchase price, and independent coverage cites the 158% figure directly. Demand and scarcity have pushed residual values above original cost.
The NVIDIA H100 (blue) is around 58% residual at the 4-year mark. Silicon Data's recent estimate is about $20.3K against the chart's $35K assumed purchase price, consistent with the plotted level after earlier fluctuations.
The NVIDIA A100 (green) is around 25% residual at 6+ years. Silicon Data puts it near $5K against the chart's $20K assumed purchase price. A six-year-old A100 is still generating meaningful rental income and hasn't gone to scrap.
Depreciation isn't following the aggressive short-life scrap curves some were expecting. Newer chips like the B200 are still trading at premiums to original cost on a residual basis, and even 4-6 year old cards retain meaningful value because they keep generating rental income. Rates remain elevated relative to the deep troughs of late 2025, though the market is more segmented than during the peak scarcity of 2023-24.
