GlobalFoundries announced a five-year, $2 billion manufacturing agreement with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Under the deal, it will produce silicon interposers at its Malta, New York facility to support TSMC's advanced CoWoS packaging ecosystem. Silicon interposers are critical components in high-performance AI chip packages, enabling high-speed communication between processors and memory.

The agreement also sets up a framework to expand production capacity as demand grows, with GlobalFoundries incorporating embedded deep-trench capacitor technology into the manufacturing process. The deal gives the company a direct, revenue-generating opportunity tied to the expanding AI infrastructure supply chain.

BNP Paribas also upgraded GlobalFoundries to Hold, reversing a previous downgrade, while a recent Form 4 filing reflected routine RSU vesting and tax withholding rather than discretionary insider buying.
