$SpaceX(SPCX)$ Fans have spotted Back to the Future references in Tesla's Roadster teasers, and quite a few now think the car might actually fly. Tesla will livestream the Roadster reveal from Waco, Texas. The clues aren't exactly subtle. One teaser uses the line "Where we're going...", which is what Doc Brown says right before the DeLorean lifts off. The start time reads as 19:55 in 24-hour format, and 1955 is the year Marty McFly travels back to in the film. Elon Musk added to the speculation with a short post of his own: "Timing is everything." Some fans see that as a hint at a 7.55-second quarter mile, which would beat the Rimac Nevera R's 7.90-second run and make the Roadster the quickest production car ever. The flying idea has been around for a while too. Back in 2018, Musk said the Roadster's SpaceX option package would include around 10 small cold-gas thrusters to boost acceleration, braking and cornering, adding that they "may even allow a Tesla to fly."
