🐶📊 Midday Market Update — 26 October 2026
Options Puppy’s Market Takeaway
🥇 1. Gold rebounds
Gold rebounded after falling below US$3,980. Buyers may be stepping in at lower levels, but I want to see whether the recovery can continue.
My view: Watch whether gold holds its rebound instead of chasing the price.
🛢️ 2. Oil retreats
Oil prices retreated today. Lower oil prices may ease inflationary pressures, but the impact depends on supply, demand and the wider economic outlook.
My view: Monitor oil prices, inflation expectations and interest-rate developments before making a trading decision.
🏦 3. Singapore banks: DBS and OCBC
DBS and OCBC experienced intraday declines before rebounding.
* DBS: Fell towards S$73.80 before recovering.
* OCBC: Dropped towards S$28.80 before rebounding.
* OCBC potential support: S$28.50, based on the recent low I am watching.
My view: I prefer keeping suitable bank holdings for dividends if the long-term investment thesis remains intact. If I have additional capital, I may consider trading within a range, buying near potential support and taking profits near resistance.
However, support levels are not guaranteed to hold. If prices break down, I will reassess rather than keep buying blindly.
💻 4. NVIDIA: US$210–US$214 range
NVIDIA is consolidating between approximately US$210 and US$214.
* US$210: Potential support.
* US$214: Potential resistance.
* Above US$214: Watch for a sustained breakout.
* Below US$210: Reassess the short-term outlook.
My view: I would rather wait for confirmation than chase the price. If I trade options, I will consider the premium, expiration, implied volatility and potential losses.
🐶 5. My trading plan
My approach is simple:
* 🥇 Gold: Watch whether the rebound continues.
* 🛢️ Oil: Monitor whether the retreat persists.
* 🏦 DBS and OCBC: Keep suitable long-term positions for dividends and consider range trading with spare capital.
* 💻 NVIDIA: Watch the US$210–US$214 range.
* 💰 Cash: Keep enough available for unexpected opportunities.
* 🛡️ Risk management: Never assume that a support level will hold.
Different markets, different opportunities. I do not need to trade every movement. I want to wait for setups that offer a reasonable balance between potential returns and risk.

- The White Knight·15:24You need to be patience for Oil to retreat back to USD80 once both wars come to a stop. I am sure that no one wants it to continue due to the economic impact on high inflation. China being the biggest importer for oil has became less reliance with the nuclear and LNG terminal in full gear ahead. It’s a matter of time that it will collapse all those who went “Long” on oil is going to face the music soon. Good luck.LikeReport
