Trump’s Holiday Rant: Winning Strategies for Market Downtime

Trump’s latest Truth Social rant has set the internet ablaze: “Too many non-working holidays in America. It is costing our Country $BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep all of these businesses closed. The workers don’t want it either! Soon we’ll end up having a holiday for every once working day of the year. It must change if we are going to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” His complaint—dropped on Juneteenth, no less—has sparked a firestorm of debate. Is he right? Are holidays bleeding the economy dry, or is this just another Trump-sized exaggeration? And more importantly, when the markets shut down for these so-called “non-working” days, what’s your move? If a country has too many holidays, the country's economy will sooner or later be affected. People will be lazy and complain when there's a need for them to work longer when the country needs to rebuild their economy... They are countries that have shorter holidays are enjoying very good economy results for years... their citizens are hard working and willing to work longer hours , although there are complaints but everyone is used to it and enjoying the economy fruits.

The Market Closes, the Real Game Begins: Why Holidays Are When Smart Investors Wake Up

On July 4th, 2025, while Wall Street enjoyed its annual pause for Independence Day, something far more significant happened behind closed doors. President Donald Trump signed the “One Big, Beautiful Bill”—a sweeping $3.3 to $4.5 trillion policy package poised to reshape America’s tax structure, healthcare system, border funding, and federal budget for years to come. The market was quiet. But beneath that silence, the gears of global capital were shifting fast. If you’re an investor who only moves when the markets do, you’re already late. ⸻ 🧠 When the Ticker Stops, the Thinking Begins We live in an era of overreaction. Every price tick, tweet, and speech sends shockwaves through the trading floor. But here’s the truth: Market holidays are not interruptions. They’re invitations. They invite

For thoughtful investors, quiet hours are anything but wasted time. In fact, they’re often when the most meaningful progress happens — not in price action, but in perspective. Use Time to Reflect When markets close, my first instinct isn’t to refresh charts — it's to journal. I keep a simple investment diary. It’s not fancy — just bullet notes on what I did, what I felt, and what I learned. It forces me to slow down and think: Wh

Trump Complains Too Many Holidays? What to Do When Markets Close?

🌟🌟🌟Holidays are wonderful opportunities to relax and spend time with loved ones.  Holidays also commemorate special events.  In the US, July 4 is Independence Day, remembering those who have fought and given their lives for their country. I always look forward to holidays as it gives me a break from checking my trades and sleep earlier.  There is more to life than just staring at the screen 24/7.  When the markets close, I enjoy taking time to go to the gym, going to my favourite local coffee shop and just simply relax. Trump may rant about having too many holidays but I am sure the American people love their holidays, just like any people around the world. @Tiger_comments

The market moves fast and staying on top of news, earnings, and charts can be intense—so when it’s a day off, I make use of the break to step back and reset my mindset. During off-market hours, I usually take time to review my portfolio, reflect on recent trades, and read up on investment books or listen to finance podcasts I’ve been meaning to catch up on. It’s a good moment to sharpen my edge without the pressure of live price action. I also like checking in on the Tiger community to see what others are thinking or sharing—it often sparks new ideas. Actually holidays are good in helping to boost businesses. People do spend money during holidays and the holiday-related leisure businesses do better. According to CNBC, Americans always overspend during the holidays! They spend on traveling/ celebrations/ food and beverages!
