Mi Material ($MIM.SI) offers exposure to AI infrastructure beyond mainstream chipmakers. Its precision solder spheres are essential interconnect components in advanced packaging, including HBM and high-performance computing. The financial momentum is impressive: 1H2026 revenue surged 109.8% year-on-year, while adjusted EBITDA rose 207.6%. Proprietary alloys, ultra-fine products and lengthy customer qualification processes could provide a competitive moat. However, strong growth does not automatically make a stock cheap. At S$1.80 per share, its estimated S$891 million market capitalisation demands scrutiny. Customer concentration, semiconductor cyclicality and expansion risks remain key concerns. My view: Mi Material has genuine AI supply-chain potential, but execution and valuation will

I think @nerdbull1669 makes the strongest point. AI still has huge long-term potential, but investors are becoming more selective about capex, free cash flow and actual returns. Growth alone is no longer enough to justify any valuation. For me, the Buffett Trade is not about abandoning technology for defensive stocks. It is about balancing growth opportunities with quality businesses that have strong cash flow, solid balance sheets and sustainable competitive advantages. I still believe in AI, but capital discipline matters more than chasing hype. I would change my view if tech companies demonstrate that their massive AI investments can generate sustainable profits and cash flow. Until then, I prefer to stay diversified, remain pati

Fed Decision Tonight: Which ETFs Could Benefit From a Rate Pause?

The Federal Reserve's next interest-rate decision is approaching, and investors are watching closely for clues about where monetary policy goes from here. While markets largely expect the Fed to keep rates unchanged, the bigger question is whether policymakers will signal that further tightening remains on the table. For ETF investors, the outcome could have different implications for growth stocks, long-term Treasury bonds and small-cap companies. Here are three ETFs to watch as the Fed prepares to announce its decision. Why the Fed's Decision Matters At its September meeting, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) raised the federal funds target range by 25 basis points to 3.75%–4.00%, citing elevated inflation. The Fed's October meeting concludes on October 28, with the decision sched

Macro Strategy Weekly: Will Key Supports Break This Week? A Bigger Correction Ahead?

Weekly Report: Key Views Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of our Macro Strategy Weekly. Each issue features market strategy insights from selected contributors with relevant professional expertise. We also track how their views perform each week. Here is a preview of this week’s key ideas: Markets Turn Defensive as Volatility May Persist Through Next Year’s First Quarter  Under the US dollar cycle model, market volatility could continue through the first quarter of next year. Safe haven, arbitrage and options strategies should therefore take priority. If US equities break below key trendlines, investors should focus on risk control. Gold is unlikely to regain bullish momentum before reclaiming its 20 day moving average. A confirmed break below $4,000 could open

$Direxion Daily Semiconductors Bull 3x Shares(SOXL)$ The recent massive pullback in semiconductor and AI-related stocks has definitely shaken market confidence. Even strong companies are facing selling pressure as investors reassess AI valuations, capital expenditure, and the sustainability of future growth. However, after watching SOXL  closely for some time, I have started to slowly bottom-fish again. My decision is not based on the belief that the market has already reached its lowest point, but rather that the recent correction may gradually create opportunities for investors who are willing to be patient. One reason I am considering adding to SOXL is my longer-term bullish view on the semiconductor industry. AI infrastructure demand

[Events] Fed Rate Decision Tonight: Hold or Hike? What's Your Call?

The Federal Reserve will announce its latest interest rate decision at 2 PM ET today (2 AM Thursday, SGT). Markets are pricing in roughly a 90% chance that the Fed will hold its benchmark rate steady at 3.75%–4.00%. But here's the catch: A pause in October doesn't mean the rate hikes are over. According to CME FedWatch, markets are pricing in a 92.8% chance that the Fed will leave rates unchanged at 3.75%–4.00%. A CNBC survey tells a similar story: 93% of respondents expect a pause this week, but 76% believe another rate hike is coming in December. Why is the Fed still under pressure? Inflation remains stubbornly high. The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3.7% year over year in September, with rising energy costs adding to price pressures. Meanwhile, the labor market is losing momentu

Microsoft and Alphabet Report Tonight: The Real Test Is Turning AI Spending Into Cash

The AI investment race is entering another important phase. Microsoft and Alphabet are set to report earnings after Wednesday’s market close, and investors will be looking beyond headline revenue and earnings per share. The bigger question is whether the enormous sums being poured into AI infrastructure are translating into sustainable revenue growth, stronger margins and healthy cash flow. Ahead of the reports, Alphabet gained 0.84% on Tuesday. Consensus estimates put Microsoft at $4.82 in earnings per share on $92.49 billion in revenue, while Alphabet is expected to deliver $3.11 per share on $132.02 billion in revenue. These are substantial numbers, but the market’s reaction will depend on whether both companies can meet elevated expectations and demonstrate that their AI investments ar

SK Hynix’s Record Results Raise a Bigger Question: How Long Can the Memory Boom Last?

The AI investment cycle is creating opportunities well beyond GPUs. Memory chips, enterprise storage and semiconductor testing equipment are increasingly important as data centres expand to support larger AI models and growing computing workloads. SK Hynix rose 1.92% after reporting record third-quarter revenue of ₩104.6 trillion and operating profit of ₩83.3 trillion, alongside expanding shipments of next-generation HBM4 memory. Meanwhile, Seagate exceeded expectations with $4.23 billion in revenue, non-GAAP EPS of $7.68 and $1.5 billion in free cash flow. Teradyne also delivered results above expectations. Together, these developments highlight a broader trend: AI infrastructure spending is creating demand across several parts of the semiconductor and storage supply chain. But after such

Anthropic’s IPO Sparks an AI Comeback — But Who Really Wins?

The AI trade is showing signs of life again. After weeks of selling pressure driven by concerns about excessive spending, debt and stretched valuations, investors returned to AI-related stocks on Tuesday. The Nasdaq Composite gained around 1.2%, while some of the hardest-hit infrastructure names staged strong rebounds.
