Will last week's red tide continue for the S&P500? Outlook for the week starting 10Mar2025

Market Outlook of S&P500 - 10 Mar 2025 S&P500 dated 10 Mar 2025 Observations: The MACD indicator is starting a downtrend. Moving Averages (MA). Both the MA50 and MA200 lines are on an uptrend. The MA50 line may soon change direction. The last candle touched the MA200 line and is sitting below the MA50 line. This implies a bearish outlook for the mid-term, and a similar bearish trend should be seen for the long term. The 3 Exponential Moving Averages (EMA) lines are showing a downtrend. Chaikin’s Monetary Flow (CMF) shows an uptrend (above the 0 line). However, the trend has been falling for the last few days. Has the S&P500 hit the bottom? Based on the chart, I would recommend caution. Let us look at some technicals. Using the 1D interval, MACD has yet to complete its bottom crossover. The average daily trading volume is about 4,661,370,689. The last trading day volume (ending 12 Mar 2025) is about 3,450,861,000. Thus, there may not be enough sustainable volume to drive the momentum of a bull run. There are also other macro data like PPI to be released. On top of this, the tariff war continues with more reciprocal actions. I recommend to monitor. As stated in my investment goal—“Aiming to outperform the NASDAQ”—the 47.01% return this year surpassed the Nasdaq’s 35.66% for the same period. While the market did not present the dramatic opportun

Magnificent 7 will defy Jobs & Inflation data.

Quick Summary. Last Wed, 04 Dec 2024’s tech rally pushed the major indexes to new highs. (see below) Friday’s latest US Non-farm payroll economic data did little to shake investors’ confidence that the Fed will cut interest rates at its final meeting of 2024. In the first week of December: (see above) DJIA: fell -0.63% (-283.34 to 44,642.45). It was the lone index in the red. S&P 500: rose +0.83% (+50.16 to 6,090.27). Nasdaq: rose +3.14% (+604.35 to 19,859.77). Non Farm Payroll - November. Jobs payroll roared to 227,000 jobs from revised October’s paltry 36,000 jobs. This is 25,000 more than Wall Street expectations. Job gains centred around the following sectors: Health care (54,000), Leisure & hospitality (53,000), and Government (33,000). Based on past three months’ average of 1

Shaping the future:2025 outlook for key assets

2024 Review:US Stock Market: Technology stocks, particularly in the AI sector, drove the market higher. The S&P 500 has realised returns in excess of 25% for two consecutive years. Whilst rare, since the start of 2024, this trend indicates a shift from conceptual speculation to profit realisation in AI investments, with the market becoming more stringent in discerning the companies that truly benefit. Hong Kong and China-A (onshore) shares: Financial sectors and High-yielding dividend stocks performed well. Indices like MSCI China Financials Index and FTSE China 50 Index outperformed US benchmarks like the Nasdaq and S&P 500, reflecting the supportive role of policies in driving stable economic growth.2025 Outlook:US Stock Market: As AI technology advances into specialised vertical

From Thunder storm to Sunshine: Why the Market May Be Ready to Stabilize

The Dow Jones Index took a tiny dip yesterday, while the S&P 500 saw a modest rise. Yesterday, pre-market, the ADP private payroll report came in softer than expected, calming some of the market’s nerves. U.S. December payrolls grew by 122,000—falling short of the expected 140,000 and the previous 146,000. Following the data release, U.S. stock futures perked up slightly. But just as things were
