Vesak Day

Vesak Day commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Siddhartha Gautama—the Buddha. It is a day of reflection, gratitude, and celebration. Across the world, Buddhists mark the occasion with ceremonies at temples, paying respect to the Buddha’s teachings. Communities come together for public talks, vibrant displays of devotion, and vegetarian food fairs, creating a rich atmosphere of peace, mindfulness, and compassion. On Vesak Day yesterday, I took time to reflect on how I could grow as a human being. I asked myself: How can I become more compassionate, more present, and more kind—both to people and to the world around me? These moments of reflection reminded me that personal growth starts with awareness and small, intentional actions. One way I try to cultivate compassion is th

🌟🌟🌟Vesak Day is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with our inner values while celebrating one of Buddhism's most important festivals. Vesak Day is also a time for giving.  Contributing to worthwhile causes such as donations or other forms of assistance not only helps those in need but also embodies the spirit of compassion and generosity which form the core of Buddha's teachings. By eating a vegetarian meal on Vesak Day, we minimise the harm done to living creatures.  This act of compassion reflects our commitment to treat all living creatures with respect and kindness.  This is a value that resonates deeply on Vesak Day which celebrates Buddha's life and his teachings of love and compassion.  Vesak Day is more than just a public holiday.  By visiting temples,

As I am a Christian, I won’t be celebrating this festival and will instead take this as an opportunity to spend time with my family and to plan for our upcoming trip together. Although we do not go visiting to any temples, I agree that each year as we watch the 3 step and 1 bow procession being reported on television, the devotion of the devotees is always inspiring. @LuckyPiggie

You’re a 🌟🩵🍀🍀🍀//@Shyon:Although I'm not a Buddhist and don't celebrate Vesak Day religiously, I appreciate this public holiday as a chance to pause and unwind. With no work on a Monday, it feels like a bonus long weekend to slow down from the usual hustle. Instead of visiting temples or crowded events, I chose to stay home and enjoy a peaceful day with my family. Spending time at home helps me recharge and reconnect with loved ones in a relaxed way. Simple things like home-cooked meals, meaningful conversations, and just being together matter most. I also took a moment to reflect on gratitude, which resonates with Vesak Day

Once I reached home, I have a shower and slept on and off. Woke up to cook lunch and then back to sleep again. Today I

As the full moon of Vesak Day approaches, marking the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Gautama Buddha, many around the world celebrate with reflection, community spirit, and acts of kindness. A Moment of Serenity: Reflecting on Your Portfolio Just as temple visits offer a chance for peaceful meditation and gratitude, Vesak Day could be the perfect moment to review your investment portfolio. A moment of clarity might help reveal which stocks are truly worth keeping and which might be dragging down your gains. Some investors even practice a "financial cleanse" d
