$TSLA 20241220 160.0 PUT$ So in my journey to understand options, I'm doing well on buying calls, betting on Winners. This is just a demo trade so please don't be alarmed, no real money lost. But I think I have learned a valuable lesson here.  Don't bet on something that even while you believe the stock is going to drop like a stone, other factors come into play. namely, too many big investors are in on it, and while they might be less bullish, there is no way they are getting out cause there's too much skin in the game. For now, I'll stick to buying call options, and will continue to hone my skills at betting on losers on the demo platform. This is truly a great part of the tiger trading platform. You really can test you
All I can say is... Nuts! I mentioned in an earlier post that I spent over 6 months trying to understand options trading. Found this fantastic brokerage called tiger trade and started putting my learning into practice on the demo account. now I have put real coin to work. And... it's working. @Barcode @Barcode @SPACE ROCKET @xXxZealandxXx @TigerClub @MillionaireTiger @Tiger_chat
$Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ yet one more example of a total market overreaction. The reality is that pltr will SAVE the government money with its software, why would you dump a product that will reduce your spending in the medium term? Wake up and smell the coffee! This is just another $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ another opportunity to take advantage of market stupidity. As retail investors we all need to realise it when hedge fund market manipulators use fear to drive the market down so they can pick up stocks cheap
So i started my tiger jouRney with NZ$10,000. In the last 6 months it has grown to NZ$49,000. so im rather happy with the investment approach i developed using the demo account, and continue to refine in the live account. Have i been saving money? No, atm my expenses exceed my income so ive had to dip into my savings. But im still floating on top of the waves. My initial goal was to double my money in a year, this goal is now ancient history. My new goal is to generate a monthly income of $8,000 minimum. This would mean i could give up my day job, pay all my bills and save around $500 a week. But wait theres more... once i get my portfolio to $250,000 i intend to spend to save. Its a simple plan really, currently over half of my income is used up on rent. So im going to buy a nice RV for a
Why will this stock 10x in the next two years $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$  Ok so here we go, my evidence to support why Rklb stock price is going to the moon... 1. The company recently announced the appointment to the board of Lt. general Armagno who retired from the DOD recently and was in charge of space forces. Hmmm I wonder if she knows people who make the big decisions about DOD space contracts going forward? But more on that in a bit.  2. New Zealand has recently been added to US military trade laws. What's that about? well America can buy foreign military technology but it won't share strategicly important information with other countries. Now a lot of the rocket lab development happens in the USA but a lot also occurs in NZ, the
$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ Well, my very first paycheck was mowing my grandmothers 1/4 acre section with a push mower. Took me over four hours but i got $10. That was 43 years ago, but $2.50 per hour back then was pretty fantastic for an 11yo. Oh wait, i had to weed her garden too, would have taken me 30 mins max, but each weed required approval from grandma to confirm it was a weed, so it took 2 hours. Funny the things you remember. And compulsory hot tea breaks, with snacks also reduced my hourly rate. But grandma was happy cause i spent the day with her, and mum was even happier cause i didn't spend the day with her, and i was happy, because i had $10 cold hard cash.  But what did i spend my loot on... well four lollies back then was 1 cent, so
$Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF(SCHD)$ back in Schd! Sold off this etf over a year ago, because I decided to focus on higher yield dividend stocks. But seriously the price has dropped sooo much I just had to get back in. There is no logical reason I can see for the dramatic drop. Only brought a small position yesterday while i fact check and make sure I'm not missing anything.  But it seems crazy cheap given the diversification it provides. I don't like a couple of the stocks Schd is in, but overall way more great and safe dividend stocks. I will likely DCA in over the next two months while the market is quiet. Schd used to make up roughly 4% of my portfolio, unlikely I'll put that much in, but I could see investing up to $1000 in the nex
Seriously! Market stupidity really knows no bounds. In pre market trading as I speak $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ is down to just under $113. Certain commentators that I trust have already identified that the whole deepseek cost structure to develop their language AI platform is total nonsense because they are excluding so many of the costs to deliver it. One simple example is they say they are recruiting people fresh out of university and paying them up to $1.3 million each, yet the AI platform only cost $10 million to build???? You can drive not a bus... probably the Star Wars death start through deepseeks news realise. It's just total rubbish. Yet stupid people believe nonsense. And main stream media lives off possible fear, virtually never recants the false
YOU WORK HARD FOR YOUR MONEY, SO LET SOME OF THAT MONEY WORK HARD FOR YOU  So, I'm a bit of a contrarian watching stocks and trading daily it's a lot of fun, especially if you make a winning trade. But what about investing in stocks that you don't have to watch. Cash flow is king right. As a fundamental investor you are looking for a stock that is cash flow positive and has growing returns. So as an investor, well shouldn't you have the same expectation of yourself? Day trading is a great way to bring in cash on a daily basis, but it requires a lot of effort. Way more effort than just analysing one stock, deciding it's great and just holding it and perhaps setting up an auto investment so it's A set and forget kinda deal.  Don't get me wrong I like a little excitement, but I also
Oh my buying calls in $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$ Is really paying dividends:)
$NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ Glad I got in before the split, no where near as impressive as other tigers, but I'm pleased I decided to buy tickets before the split. Emotions running high in this stock, i think it will go well until after the split, then human nature will take over and there will be a new "best thing" But I'm happy to be on the ride for the moment
@Tiger_comments Asked if i could write an article comparing $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$, $AST SpaceMobile, Inc.(ASTS)$ and $Redwire Corp.(RDW)$ so here goes.  First up let me be upfront, I own over $27k in rocket lab and it represents 1/3 of my entire portfolio. Space mobile and red wire I own like $250 approx in each but intend to build my position if they prove my thesis to be correct. So are there any other space companies worth investing In atm? In my opinion no. Only these three have potential. And given my allocation of $$$ it's obvious I have a clear winner picked. Why rocket lab? It's the number
$Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ its a tricky one. I missed the boat completely and only got in at $69, after I kinda figured them out enough. Alex hasnt really impressed me in his speechs, does not really explain things clearly. He is obviously brilliant, but you can't be good at everything i guess. His writings are a totally different story, clear and concise.  Can palantir go to $150? I'll reserve my opinion until i read his upcoming book. But i will slowly add to my position on dips. Im sure there will be some downward pressure at some points. I think institutional investors are kicking themselves and will try to push the price down to buy it. But there is no way im selling. This is a ten year plus hold and accumulate. The TTM P/E
$Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$ is definitely the best of the space stocks going forward without question and I believe it's run is far from over given the upcoming tailwinds in 2025. It's a huge part of my portfolio. But I am also building a tiny position in $Redwire Corp.(RDW)$ And $AST SpaceMobile, Inc.(ASTS)$ these are not end to end like Rklb but they will likely benefit as space becomes the new AI in 2025
So, i believe the biggest issue fundamental investors have is the information they rely on. Often, more often than you think, it's actually wrong, or sometimes it's just calculated in a way you didn't realise. I will use two cases to illustrate, from one investor class... the dividend investor. I look at data every day, and dividend investors are looking for consistent and growing company dividend over time. Personally I want a dividend stock to be doing both. At least once a week, information about the stock I invest in is actually wrong. #arcc last week for eg on one site told me it paid a dividend of only 3 cents per share during 2 quarters of last year, totally wrong. Checking other sources quickly confirmed it to be totally wrong. Moral of the story... don't trust one source of data,
Been busy in the first few days of January 2025. Sold my position in $Redwire Corp.(RDW)$ because i own $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$ And there is alot of overlap. Brought into $Globalstar(GSAT)$ With the profits because rklb launches their satellites and it's backed by apple. So its a similar play to owning $AST SpaceMobile, Inc.(ASTS)$ but with asts trading at over 10x that of gsat, gsat looks cheap and asts looks expensive. In other moves, ive increased my position in $Trinity Capital Inc.(TRIN)$, MAIN, GLAD, GAIN, and a number of other long held dividend stocks, and will conti
Just because a company is entering a new index doesn't mean it will go up automatically, but it usually does. I believe you also need to look at the fundamentals. And here $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ is my obvious choice, yes it's insanely expensive but it also has insane growth potential. My only regret today is that I don't have the spare money to buy more
Of course i will add on dips, and i have been consistently as the pic below illustrates. I have already added at $120. I love it when the stock market overreacts. Know the company you invest in, understand the misinformation being presented and take advantage of it. 2025 will be the year of unprecedented fake stock news, so turn on your brain people please. To be fair retail investors did engage their brains with the latest $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ dip and brought up big time... Congrats everyone! Never trust comentary on stock quarterly reports, go to the source and decide for yourself. For example today $NextEra Energy Partners LP(NEP)$ reported a nasty loss, but most of that was attributable to a one time right o
Ok here's a thought. Since the 1920s the S&P has delivered an annualised return of around 9%. Some years it hasn't but on average it's 9% plus. So why would you sell it ever? Well I guess if you brought it cheap, and now it's expensive, one reason to sell some would be because it's overweight in your portfolio and maybe you have something that "mite" perform better.  But that's a big mite. $Vanguard S&P 500 ETF(VOO)$ Is at record highs, and continues to bounce. My perspective is that I'm not overweight, so I have no compelling need to sell. If it drops significantly I would just buy more, funds permitting. If you have the luxury of time in the market then there is no need to sell anything that is good. Investing in stocks is a long ter
$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ Oh boy, back on the topic of Tesla. If you follow me, you know I'm not on the Tesla fan base, for one... I love a V8. And batteries, well I don't mind them on a drill or a rattle gun but not on my drop saw or bench saw.  But even though I cringe pretty much every time Elon posts anything, because it's words that don't get followed up with actions, I have to concede one overwhelming factor in Elon's favour. My father fought in WW2 he was a signal man on a British mine sweeping boat on D day, his ship was torpedoed, he was wounded but the ship was able to limp back to port. nothing close to what American soldiers faced that day though. Anyway my point is... regarding Americans (he called you guys yanks) he said "Yanks... wh
