I do think that tencent’s strategy looks similar to meta which customised advertisement. However, a good amount of its profit also comes from games and how it can enhance revenue there too. In the short term of 2-3 years, I think this would pay off and revenue should continue to look good. It also has its cloud though not as mature as alibaba’s. This is where it will differ from Alibaba in the longer term of maybe 5 years and beyond. In the short term, as Alibaba invests in infrastructure to get a lead to become the market’s leader in AWS and OpenAI, this would take time to pay off. The demand from the Chinese market is strong and the masses are sufficient to drive it. I expect to see returns in 2-3 years and exponential returns in the next 5 years if it can become the market leader in Chi

I think it is expected. I see SingPost’S business as a dying trade. How many of us here have ever used it’s services or can remember when we last used it? It is usually used by businesses but many have turned to electronic means to save paper and cost. I remember having to use it for applications like credit card but these have also gone electronic. Whether it is renewed focus or resolution of whatever deep-rooted issues, I don’t think that will turn SingPost around. The demand is now dwindling as people move towards electronic means which are easier to archive and faster to receive than snail mail. Ain’t called snail for nothing. I think it would be too risky to bottom fish this stock. I see this as a falling knife. There are so many much better stocks out there, why spend money on this?

Sadly, I don’t have any friends who work in these companies. I would love to know what is so amazing about these companies that allowed them to become best employers. I do know some of the technology companies offer perks such as free meals, games within office, flexible working hours but I think a great employer goes beyond providing all these. There must be something they are doing right to build the desirable work culture. Having been to Apple Store recently, I think it helps that they have sufficient manpower so that their employees don’t feel that they are squeezed dry everyday at work. I think having a brand as a top employer helps attract talent to the company and could be a win-win situation for both parties if the talent can be retained. However, rank shift may not mean much to jo

I won’t recreate the bill gates’ hawker meal. Too much food in one setting. Where is my laksa and carrot cake! He should be introduced to the Chinese carrot cake. Same same but different carrot cake. Durian is one of my favourite fruit. I am obsessed with it! Unfortunately makes me fat during its season when I indulge in it and also burns a hole in my pocket as they are increasingly expensive. I hope that when he sets up his office here, Singaporeans can benefit through its technology exposure, broadening the views of Singaporeans and provide jobs. However, its vision and what he drives for may be against what some Singaporeans believe and would like to see for example compulsory vaccination and tracking of personal data. I hope this would not bring about division in the nation.

Replying to @Wayneqq:Glad that you managed to shower the prince 3 times!//@Wayneqq:Wah... Amitabha🙏🙇‍♂️🙏//@DiAngel:As usual, I went to Kong Meng San to do my 3 steps 1 bow at 2am.. to avoid the crowd and the humid weather. The journey is 1hrs 45mins - 2hrs. This year, I was a bit slow as half way through the ritual, I was burping non stop. I took deep breath in to ensure I can complete the journey but at certain point, I didn’t bow. I was worried I might vomit. After the journey, I have the opportunity to be sprayed by the Buddha and bathe the statue of baby Prince Siddharta 3x [Chuckle]. When there is a crowd, I can only do

No work on Monday is really just another day to rest and sleep in! As I am a Christian, I won’t be celebrating this festival and will instead take this as an opportunity to spend time with my family and to plan for our upcoming trip together. I treasure family time and creating meaningful memories together. Just had lunch together and will also be going for dessert soon! Although we do not go visiting to any temples, I agree that each year as we watch the 3 step and 1 bow procession being reported on television, the devotion of the devotees is always inspiring. @LuckyPiggie @SPOT_ON @rL

$Trump Media & Technology(DJT)$   I is definitely worthy to consider a small bet. He is basically that one man that can swing the market by what he says and what he approved. The market is currently in fear due to tariffs and anything that can reverse that or reduces the tariffs would be helpful and what the market wants to hear. There is nothing scientific here but playing upon the market sentiments.  However, the rally might be short-lived so u would prefer to get out quickly and take profit than to be a bag holder. For ETFs, I think it would be a good idea to buy or average down for the longer term as I don't expect tariffs to hold for long or a trade war to materialise. Afterall, in a trade war, everyone is a loser and trump

I believe that AI+ product is a safe haven against tariffs as their product are not actual products that require import and export that the current tariffs are about. The current tariffs are on material stuff and there is nothing on services yet. However, that could change instantly if countries impose policies to make it harder to use these. At this point, I don’t think that would happen as these services often help with productivity and efficiency and doing so would inhibit the economic progress of the country. Technology and AI go hand in hand and can be coupled for greater growth. I think eventually technology will use AI too and both are not mutually exclusive. Consumers can use them for different purposes. Technology is less dependent on supply chain fluctuations and may not be depen

I definitely felt like I was catching falling knives when I bought China/HK stocks 3 years ago. The cheap just keeps getting cheaper. But I stuck on and rode it out. I don’t believe in going all in as putting all my eggs in the same basket is too risky for me. I definitely have times where I have taken profit too early. Then I would re-enter when I realise that the momentum is there. Of course, there are times when the momentum stops and I am stuck with the stock. I would usually hold it through if the fundamentals are intact and there is a chance that macro factors that influence it would turnaround. Sometimes patience and time in the market would pay off though the profit margin would be reduced. @rL
