Now divide this number by 200. This is the stock's 200-day moving average.I've given you the 200-day moving average formula to say this: Roughly 65% of all stocks are currently trading below their 200-day moving average, according to Barchart. This has happened seven other times in the last 20 years, so it's a fairly regular occurrence. However, it means that a lot of stocks are beaten down right now; it's not just so-called growth stocks. The very term \"growth stock\" comes with its own unhelpful baggage that I hope to dispel here. Many growth stocks are beaten down, but that doesn't necessarily make them buys. Moreover, despite what you may have heard, growth stocks can be purchased at a good value, and I believe that applies to the two companies I'm highlighting here today: advertising-technology (ad-tech) company PubMatic (NASDAQ:PUBM) and speciality marketplace Etsy (NASDAQ:ETSY). Let's take a closer look at these two stocks.1. Why PubMatic stock is a buyI like PubMatic first and foremost because of the industry it's in -- digital advertising. Multiple sources all point out that this industry is enjoying a major tailwind as advertisers shift dollars from traditional channels to measurable, targetable digital-ad mediums. To me, digital advertising is a growth industry, and it's worth owning several of the best players in the space, including PubMatic.PubMatic is demonstratively one of the best players. Consider how quickly it's gaining new customers. At the end of March, the company had just 1,250 publisher and app-developer partners. At the end of September, it was up to 1,370 -- a 10% increase in just six months. Keep in mind this is a crowded space. Winning this many customers this quickly is a testament to PubMatic's prowess. Moreover, existing PubMatic customers are increasing their spending at an impressive rate. This is measured with a metric called the net dollar-based retention (NDBR) rate. A NDBR of 110% is generally considered good and implies customers spent 10% more on average this year than last year. Since going public, PubMatic has reported financial results four times, showing a NDBR of 122%, 130%, 150%, and (most recently) 157% -- few companies have numbers this good.Industry growth, customer-count growth, and customer-spending growth all point toward PubMatic being a solid growth stock. But it's not growing at the expense of profitability. The company has earned $28.3 million in net income through the first three quarters of 2021 and trades at just 35 times trailing 12-month earnings as of this writing. Therefore, PubMatic isn't just a beaten-down stock. It's a good company trading at an attractive valuation.2. Why Etsy stock is a buyEtsy's business connects sellers of handmade goods with buyers. Yes, sellers could sell directly to the consumer. However, Etsy has 96 million active buyers on its platform, up from just 33 million at the end of 2017. Therefore, it's safe to say that Etsy is increasingly top of mind with consumers when they want something handmade. Sellers can't risk being overlooked by skipping the platform. Not only that, but Etsy's active buyer audience is big enough to attract all kinds of niche sellers. Again, we've seen an incredible increase of active sellers on the platform. At the end of 2017, there were 1.9 million active sellers. Now there are 7.5 million.I'm describing Etsy's powerful network effect. And because of how essential it is to both parties, the company can charge a hefty take-rate -- a cut of sales. In the third quarter of 2021, Etsy's take-rate was a whopping 18%, which is quite high compared to its peers. To reiterate, Etsy isn't supplying products but rather a marketplace. And because the marketplace is online, this company has great profit margins. Through the first three quarters of 2021, its gross margin was 72.3%, up from 71.6% for the same three quarters of 2020. And like PubMatic, Etsy has real net income, having earned $332 million so far in 2021.Looking at the price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio, Etsy trades at a P/E of 42. That might sound a little pricey. But this market-beating stock rarely trades this cheaply, as the chart below shows.ETSY PE Ratio data by YCharts. Why these growth stocks are cheapWhen stocks get beaten down, it's normally because there's fear from investors. And that's no different here. Investors are worried changes in the ad-tech world will make PubMatic's services less effective. And investors are concerned that Etsy's growth was driven primarily by the pandemic in recent quarters. It's certainly important to understand that there are arguments against these two stocks too. However, there's always a degree of risk in investing no matter what stock you choose to buy. That's why it's important to not just buy cheap stocks but stocks of quality companies. And in my opinion, both PubMatic and Etsy are quality businesses and worth a $2,000 investment right now.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"ETSY":1,"PUBM":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2469,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9095501618,"gmtCreate":1644939989059,"gmtModify":1676533977900,"author":{"id":"4104987214235800","authorId":"4104987214235800","name":"12b79cbf","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4104987214235800","authorIdStr":"4104987214235800"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Best thanks","listText":"Best thanks","text":"Best thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9095501618","repostId":"2211505186","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2211505186","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1644939108,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2211505186?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-15 23:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tech Sell-Off: This Beaten-Down Growth Stock Could Soar 312%, Says Wall Street","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2211505186","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"C3.ai carries some risk, but the rewards could be remarkable.","content":"
\n
It's only February, but investors are already having a tough year. The technology sector is suffering the most with the Nasdaq 100 index down over 12% year to date. But history suggests ignoring short-term noise and taking a long-term view will yield the most positive results. So investors could use the recent dip as a chance to buy innovative companies at a discount.First-of-its-kind artificial intelligence company, C3.ai (NYSE:AI), might be one candidate. There is a caveat, however: While its shares down 20% so far in 2022, they have lost 85% of their value since hitting their all-time high in Dec. 2020, so it's a volatile stock. But one Wall Street firm stands behind the company's potential, indicating C3.ai stock could quadruple from today's price. Here's why. It's a trailblazerArtificial intelligence (AI) brings boundless possibilities to the business world through its ability to complete highly complex tasks in a fraction of the time humans would need. For some technology companies, building AI models is part-and-parcel of doing business. Think about behemoths like Meta Platforms, Alphabet's Google, or even Upstart, which uses AI to originate loans for banks. But that's not the case for most regular businesses. They don't have the financial resources, nor can they attract the specialized talent, to create technologies like AI in-house. That's the gap C3.ai fills by offering a suite of turnkey AI applications that can be customized to work within almost any industry in the world. At 35%, the oil and gas sector is C3.ai's largest source of revenue. The sector is benefiting from AI models that help to reduce carbon emissions and predict costly equipment failures. But the company is also recognized by some of the largest tech organizations in the world, including Microsoft, which is collaborating with C3.ai to accelerate the development of AI applications on its Azure cloud-services platform. So far, this partnership has led to over $200 million of new deals for the two companies.Strong revenue growth but explosive customer growthC3.ai isn't a profitable company yet, which is a key reason its stock has struggled, but it's doing all the right things to grow its business. Over time, it will likely achieve scale and deliver positive earnings per share. But for now, investors should be extremely excited about the company's performance based on other metrics. It generated $92 million in revenue during fiscal 2019, and management expects the top line to reach $250 million in fiscal 2022. That change represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 39%, but the company's customer growth actually trounces that mark.MetricFiscal 2019Fiscal 2022*CAGRTotal customers2110489%Data source: C3.ai. CAGR = Compound Annual Growth Rate.In addition, over the last 12 months, C3.ai has doubled the number of industries it serves to 14. And it has also significantly expanded existing agreements, Its deal with oil and gas giant Baker Hughes, for example, increased $45 million to a whopping $495 million. That one deal alone guarantees C3.ai $357 million in revenue over the next three and a half years.Wall Street is on boardIn Dec. 2021, Wall Street firm Needham maintained its buy rating on C3.ai stock and attached a price target of $103 per share. That represents 312% growth from its current price of $25.But while Needham is the most bullish firm, it's certainly not alone. The consensus price target on Wall Street sits at $56.29, which is still more than double where the stock trades as of this writing. Those price targets might actually be conservative over the long term with the artificial intelligence industry set to top $360 billion by 2028. So when investors look back a few years from now, the recent tech sell-off might prove to have been a great opportunity to pick up C3.ai stock.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AI":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1576,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9095104973,"gmtCreate":1644845505275,"gmtModify":1676533967130,"author":{"id":"4104987214235800","authorId":"4104987214235800","name":"12b79cbf","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4104987214235800","authorIdStr":"4104987214235800"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Likes pls","listText":"Likes pls","text":"Likes pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9095104973","repostId":"1117298807","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1117298807","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1644843901,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1117298807?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-14 21:05","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Pre-Bell|Wall Street Futures Bounced; FB To Hold Meeting To Detail Metaverse Plan","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1117298807","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Wall Street futures bounced on Monday, though rising geopolitical tensions between Russia and the We","content":"

Wall Street futures bounced on Monday, though rising geopolitical tensions between Russia and the West posed a double whammy for investors already worried about aggressive policy tightening by the Federal Reserve to combat surging inflation.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Monday suggested to President Vladimir Putin that Moscow continue along the diplomatic path in its efforts to extract security guarantees from the West, as tensions soar over Ukraine.

Market Snapshot

At 8 a.m. ET, Dow e-minis were up 57 points, or 0.16%, S&P 500 e-minis were up 6 points, or 0.14%, and Nasdaq 100 e-minis were up 3 points, or 0.02%.

Pre-Market Movers

Splunk (SPLK) –Cisco Systems(CSCO) made a more than $20 billion takeover bid for the cloud software company, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke to The Wall Street Journal. With that incredible performance in mind, read on for a look at two tech stocks in the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio that have what it takes to be huge winners.Image source: The Motley Fool.1. SnowflakeSporting a market capitalization of roughly $78.5 billion and trading at approximately 39 times this year's expected sales, Snowflake (NYSE:SNOW) has one of the more unusual valuation profiles in the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio. This is a growth stock through and through, and it's operating at the intersection of some powerful long-term trends that help put its valuation and support from the Berkshire team in context.Snowflake provides data warehousing and analytics services, and it allows users to easily combine otherwise siloed information from Amazon's, Microsoft's, and Alphabet's respective cloud platforms. It also allows customers to share and monetize their data, and the business is on track to benefit from a powerful network effect as more clients take advantage of these services.A recent market study found that 100% of surveyed Snowflake customers recommend the company's services, and the data specialist's highly regarded offerings are paving the way for rapid business growth. Existing customers increased their spending a whopping 73% year over year in the third quarter, and the company also grew its total customer count to 5,416 -- up roughly 52% year over year. The combination of increased client spending and new customer additions allowed the company to post 110% year-over-year sales growth in Q3, and there's still huge room for expansion over the long term. With Snowflake's share price now down roughly 27% from its high, investors have an opportunity to build discounted positions in a company that's on track to play an influential role in the ongoing data analytics revolution.2. StoneCoThe last year has been tough for fintech stocks. It's also generally been challenging for companies that primarily operate in the Latin American market. As such, it's not shocking that StoneCo (NASDAQ:STNE) stock has struggled across the stretch, but the extent of the sell-offs has been staggering.StoneCo is a leading provider of payment processing and other fintech services in Brazil. Berkshire Hathaway made a significant investment in the company when StoneCo had its initial public offering in 2018. The investment conglomerate started out owning a roughly 11% stake in the company, but it trimmed its position after shares went on to post explosive gains. Berkshire's decision to reduce holdings in StoneCo stock has proven to be a wise one given recent trading, but there's big comeback potential here.Amid waning investor appetite for risk, high inflation, and economic uncertainty in Latin America, StoneCo stock has gotten pummeled. Shares trade down a staggering 85% from the lifetime high they hit last February.StoneCo's outlook has been dampened due to new credit regulations in Brazil that have disrupted one of the company's growth vehicles. On the other hand, the fintech actually posted a record net customer addition of 294,000 new merchant clients in the third quarter, and it also added more than 420,000 new digital banking accounts in the period. The company ended the quarter with nearly 1.4 million active payment clients, and total revenue climbed roughly 57% year over year in the period. Meanwhile, total payment volume conducted through StoneCo's platform was up roughly 54% after backing out contributions from pandemic-related stimulus initiatives. The company's net income also slumped roughly 54% in the period, largely due to the collapse of its credit business, but there's still a core growth engine here that looks pretty strong. The big sell-offs have pushed StoneCo's market capitalization down to roughly $4 billion, and the company is now valued at roughly 30.5 times this year's expected earnings and 2.7 times expected sales.I believe this is a situation in which can benefit from being \"greedy when others are fearful,\" as Buffett has famously said.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"SNOW":1,"STNE":1,"BRK.A":1,"BRK.B":1,"GOOG":0.62}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2073,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9096391289,"gmtCreate":1644294491401,"gmtModify":1676533909919,"author":{"id":"4104987214235800","authorId":"4104987214235800","name":"12b79cbf","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4104987214235800","authorIdStr":"4104987214235800"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Likes","listText":"Likes","text":"Likes","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9096391289","repostId":"2209373307","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2209373307","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1644292835,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2209373307?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-02-08 12:00","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Warren Buffett Stocks to Buy Hand Over Fist in February","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2209373307","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Riding the Oracle of Omaha's coattails has been a successful investing strategy for over five decades.","content":"
\n
Few investors have a more impressive track record of making money than Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A)(NYSE:BRK.B) CEO Warren Buffett. The Oracle of Omaha, as he's come to be known, has built up his net worth from $10,000 to $113 billion over seven decades. Keep in mind that this $113 billion figure doesn't account for the $41 billion he's donated to charity over the past 15 years. The gains have arguably been even more impressive for his company's shareholders. Since taking over as CEO in 1965, Buffett has overseen the creation of more than $700 billion in market value, as well as a better than 3,800,000% gain in Berkshire Hathaway's Class A shares (BRK.A). That's an average annual return of more than 20% for 57 years (and counting). In other words, riding the Oracle of Omaha's coattails has been a profitable proposition for a long time. With stocks enduring their steepest pullback in nearly two years last month, the following three Warren Buffett stocks can confidently be bought hand over fist in February.Berkshire Hathaway CEO, Warren Buffett. Image source: The Motley Fool.Bank of AmericaFirst up is money-center giant Bank of America (NYSE:BAC). BofA is Berkshire Hathaway's second-largest holding and comprises 13.8% of the company's $351 billion investment portfolio.Historically, bank stocks are highly cyclical businesses, and rarely a place for investors to retreat when market volatility picks up. But in this particular instance, we're entering the sweet spot of the banking industry growth cycle. That's because the nation's central bank has switched its stance on monetary policy in the wake of historically high inflation.According to the tea leaves laid out by the Federal Reserve, multiple interest rate hikes could be on their way in 2022 and 2023. No bank stock is more interest-sensitive than Bank of America. Rising rates would positively impact the company's outstanding variable-rate loans, thereby generating additional net interest income that'll flow directly to its bottom line. According to BofA's year-end operating results, a 100-basis-point parallel shift in the interest rate yield curve would produce an estimated $6.5 billion in net interest income over the next 12 months. Put another way, a 1% increase in prevailing interest rates could lift BofA's full-year earnings per share by approximately $0.80.Something else to consider is that bank stocks like BofA tend to get more aggressive with their capital return strategies when profits are on the rise. CEO Brian Moynihan has not been shy about repurchasing stock or increasing his company's dividend, with approval from the Fed. If multiple interest rate hikes come to fruition, a more bountiful shareholder return program should be expected by late June. Also, as I've previously pointed out, Bank of America has done an excellent job of funneling new and existing customers to digital sales channels. When the curtain closed on 2021, BofA had 41 million active digital users, up 5 million from three years' prior. What's more, 49% of fourth-quarter sales were completed online or via mobile app, up from 31% in Q4 2018. The point being that digital transactions are markedly cheaper for the company than in-person or phone-based interactions. As transactions go digital, BofA has been able to consolidate some of its branches and improve its operating efficiency.Image source: Getty Images.Bristol Myers SquibbA second Warren Buffett stock to buy hand over fist in February is pharmaceutical company Bristol Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY).When volatility picks up in the stock market, healthcare stocks are often a smart place to put your money to work. Since people don't get to choose when they get sick or what type of illness they develop, there's a steady demand for prescription drugs, medical devices, and healthcare services in any environment. Even if the stock market were to dip significantly from where it is now, patients will still need the therapies provided by Bristol Myers Squibb. On a more company-specific basis, Bristol Myers has brought organic and acquisitive growth to the table. In terms of the former, it's generating a mountain of annual revenue from blood thinner Eliquis, which was developed in cooperation with Pfizer, and cancer immunotherapy Opdivo. Opdivo is particularly intriguing given its label expansion opportunities. Eliquis and Opdivo were respectively on track for more than $10 billion and north of $7 billion in full-year sales in 2021.Bristol Myers also made waves when it closed on the mammoth buyout of immunology and cancer-drug developer Celgene in late 2019. This acquisition brought blockbuster multiple myeloma treatment Revlimid into the fold. Revlimid was pacing $13 billion in full-year sales in 2021 and is protected from a full launch of generic entrants for four more years. In short, it's a cash flow cow for the company.Speaking of cash flow, Bristol Myers Squibb significantly expanded its shareholder return program in December. The company's quarterly dividend was increased by about 10%, with the share repurchase program given a $15 billion jolt in the arm. If the entirety of the company's $15.2 billion in authorized repurchases were put to use, its share count could be reduced by more than 10%.With Bristol Myers Squibb valued well below its five-year average for forward earnings, cash flow, and book value, it looks like a screaming buy.GM CEO Mary Barra introducing the all-electric Chevy Silverado. Image source: General Motors.General MotorsThe third Buffett stock that can drive big gains in February and beyond is auto juggernaut General Motors (NYSE:GM).Similar to bank stocks, you typically wouldn't pour cash into auto stocks as a safety valve during periods of volatility. But given General Motors' already inexpensive valuation, as well as the multidecade growth opportunity on its doorstep, it's a stock patient investors can buy with confidence.Despite the inherently cyclical nature of the auto industry, the push to electrify consumer vehicles and enterprise fleets can yield sustainably strong growth for GM and its peers for a long time to come. Replacing vehicles isn't going to happen overnight. Yet the global push to reduce our carbon footprint is only going to escalate as time passes. For investors with time on their side, growth in electric vehicles (EVs) is a no-brainer opportunity. For its part, General Motors upped its commitment to spending on EVs, autonomous vehicles, and batteries, to $35 billion this past June. CEO Mary Barra sees EV production capacity in North America topping 1 million annually by the end of 2025, with the company on track to launch 30 EVs globally by mid-decade.Although it's early, demand for key next-gen products appears strong. Keeping in mind that the fully refundable deposit is only $100, Barra noted that Chevy Silverado EV pre-orders topped 110,000 since its unveiling just a month earlier.General Motors has an inside track to garnering sizable EV share in China, too. In each of the past two years, GM has delivered approximately 2.9 million vehicles in the world's largest auto market.
