    Thanks for sharing your thought provoking writeup. So, in your assessment, there is no impact from DeepSeek at the moment? Definitely not 2025 I suppose, but with an ever evolving technology development, DeepSeek is perhaps just one of the many possible ways of utilising AI. ChatGPT AI is the first breakthrough, DeepSeek just shows that it's not the only way to use the chips... more to come in this space is the only reasonable expectation... I am sure AI development will be very different from what we know now.

      Nevertheless, DeepSeek uses a different pathway in the training process, paving the way for other AI players to try alternatives. It's not just about the cost, rather amount of training data required and efficiency are paramount to the working of AI. There's perhaps an easier way is the message here

      Indeed $5.6M can't possibly be the full cost of development. OpenAI has spent a lot of time to go through various iterations before ChatGPT goes live. DeepSeek has the benefit of hindsight to cut short its development process.
