[Event] If You Could Time-Travel, What Assets Would You All In?
Imagine this: If you could go back, relying only on your memories to invest, how would you choose?
Investing, at its core, is about catching the right trends. Nail a few key moments, and your life could change forever.
📌 For example:
2005: Buy a property in Beijing’s Third Ring before the 2008 Olympics—instant wealth.
2009: Spend a few thousand dollars on $CME Bitcoin - main 2504(BTCmain)$, buying tens of thousands of coins. Even if you forgot your private key later, your story would be movie-worthy.
2020: Go all in during the historic oil price $WTI Crude Oil - main 2505(CLmain)$ crash when futures went negative. Profit multiplied dozens of times overnight.
2023: Bet on $Gold - main 2506(GCmain)$ early to ride the wave to $3200.
Post-crash moments (2008, 2015, 2020): Quietly scoop up index ETFs after market collapses, then silently laugh your way to the top.
Now picture this—you wake up today and find yourself back in 2000.

Apple – Dirt cheap back then, around $1-2 adjusted for splits. The iPod was just about to drop in 2001, & the iPhone in 2007 would change everything
Amazon – Also super cheap post-dot-com crash. E-commerce and cloud computing dominance was incoming
Microsoft – Solid long play. Windows XP was coming, and they’d evolve into a cloud beast
Go All-In Assets (Diversified but Aggressive):
1. Stocks (2000–2025 growth monsters):
Tesla (IPO in 2010) – Wait till IPO, then load up
Nvidia – Buy & hold through the gaming/AI/crypto revolutions
Google (IPO in 2004) – Grab as early as possible.
Netflix – Tiny DVD rental biz in 2000; streaming juggernaut later.
2. Real Estate (especially 2010 crash pricing):
Scoop up properties post-2008 crash, especially in major U.S. cities or booming tech zones like Austin/ Seattle.
3. Cryptocurrency:
Bitcoin – Buy in 2010 at $0.01, sell a chunk in 2017, hold some for 2021 & beyond
Ethereum – Get in at 2015 ICO
Next, I’d load up on Bitcoin in 2009 when it was nearly free, then sell in waves during each bull run. I’d go all-in on oil during the 2020 crash, knowing it was temporary, and buy index ETFs like SPY after every major market drop—2008, 2015, 2020—for huge gains on the rebound.
From 2016 onward, I’d focus on AI and semiconductors— $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ , $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ & $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ would be clear winners. Investing isn’t about getting everything right, just catching the big trends.
Time travel might be fiction, but smart investing is real, it starts with recognizing the trends.

Now if that is a possibility, I shall definitely go All In and buy $DBS Group Holdings(D05.SI)$ which has just IPO the year before in 1999 at just SGD 0.18 cents. Fast forward to 2025, DBS is now trading at SGD 43.30 per share. DBS is also the Top bank in South East Asia with an impressive market capitalisation of SGD 123 billion.
I would be sitting on a huge pile of cash if I had invested in DBS then. It goes to show the magic of compounding and the power of patience and time in the markets.
Nonetheless the present upheaval in the stock market provides an unprecedented opportunity to buy more DBS stocks. Then I would hitch a ride on Tardis and travel to the Year 2030 and see how well DBS has done.
