$40 Million Parade: Can Trump "Birthday Party" Go Smoothly?

To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the US Army, a massive military parade will take place this Saturday in Washington, D.C. — coinciding with President Trump’s 79th birthday.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. local time, following a full day of festivities on the National Mall. Organizers estimate the parade will last approximately 90 minutes.

Around 6,700 soldiers, dressed in both historical and modern uniforms, are expected to participate in the parade. The military has also released a detailed list of participating equipment, including tanks, artillery, tactical vehicles, and aircraft.

Historically, major US military parades have been tied to significant national events, such as entry into WWII, victory in WWII, or the 1991 Gulf War, which saw the last major parade. It’s hard not to see this one as Trump also throwing a birthday party for himself. The estimated cost of the event ranges between $25 million and $40 million.

During Trump’s first term, French President Emmanuel Macron invited him to attend the 2017 Bastille Day parade in Paris. Trump later remarked how impressed he was, saying, “It was tremendous — I want one too.”

Now, in a second term, Trump seems to be getting what Trump wants.

But can this parade really go off without a hitch?

Just last week, turmoil broke out in Los Angeles, and Trump sent troops without approval from California’s governor, a move some critics called borderline civil war.

Tensions between the two parties have reached new highs. Trump claimed on the surface that he had spoken with the governor by phone, then turned around and deployed troops anyway.

His "phone diplomacy" is notoriously unpredictable. Trump is currently at odds with more and more people, though he doesn’t seem to care. After a public spat with Elon Musk, the two reconciled, only for Trump this week to call Fed Chair Jerome Powell a “moron.”

So apart from the parade, how else might Trump celebrate his birthday?

Earlier this term, he launched his own "Trump Coin." He's also known to dabble in the stock market. Some suspect that the massive options trade made just before tariff policy shifted was orchestrated by Trump himself. So come Monday, will Trump Coin or $Trump Media & Technology(DJT)$ get a birthday boost? Or maybe Trump is more concerned about US Treasuries?

What do you think of the parade? Is it pure Trump showmanship?

Will it go smoothly at all?

Trump’s reputation has steadily declined, but he still has plenty of die-hard fans. Some have bought DJT stock just to celebrate his birthday.

So, what would you say to Trump?

Happy Burstday or Happy Worst Day?

🌟🌟🌟The military parade celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the US Army coincides with Trump's 79th birthday.  Is it a grand tribute to US military strength or a patriotic celebration?

With tanks rolling through Washington DC, thousands of soldiers marching and aircraft soaring overhead, the show is definitely impressive.

However the "No Kings" protests across all the 50 states highlight deep divisions with opponents condemning the event as a self aggrandising show of power rather than a genuine military commemoration.

The huge USD 40 Million price tag has also raised concerns with critics questioning whether such an extravagant display is justified.

Ultimately the military parade will be remembered not just for its grandeur but for the political tensions it underscores.

Donald Trump has always been known for grand attention  grabbing spectacles and this parade is just another way to keep the spotlight on himself. @Tiger_comments @TigerStars @CaptainTiger @Tiger_SG

We, Chinese, believes that a parade is a celebration of past hero’s and to honour their bravery in a war. It is not meant for birthday celebration. Well, I m Chinese, whereas Trump is a white. Hence, he might not believe in such act but just do it in his own way as long as he is happy. I wish him all the best. 🍀🍀. 🍾🥂 Cheers to his good health n wealth! Anyway, he has more wealth than health. Hence more for his health! 🎂🍻🥃🍷🍺🍸

While it is worthy to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the US Army, it is opportunistic to use it to celebrate one’s birthday. With all the talk about reducing the deficit, the estimated cost of the event ranges between $25 million and $40 million is wow! Think of how this amount can help the homeless and destitute in US. Anyway, happy birthday President Trump [Smile]

🎂 Happy birthday to President Donald Trump. He is attending the big budget parade of the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary to celebrate his 79th birthday. His recent income of US$600 million includes income from crypto, golf clubs, licensing and other ventures benefited from U.S. policy shifts under him. He will likely be dancing happily at the post-parade dinner. Thanks @Tiger_comments @icycrystal

  • As a country, there is nothing wrong with it. From China, Russia to India and many others doing the same every year... so what's wrong when US does that? I'm not American but I support it.. Show the world how advanced and how good US weapons are...( if this was arranged by another President, maybe the complaint will be different.

Trump has been known to be a show-off and he makes no effort to hide it. I think this is also to show off the US’ military might which can serve as a deterrence to any potential aggression and the US’ ability to defend her interests.

Why should it not go smoothly? It is the US and they have the means to make it go well.

Trump has been known to be controversial and wants to do things his way. He is highly unpredictable but that could be part of his game plan like a businessman. He wants to have full control of the situation and maximum negotiation power. That does not mean he is irrational. He just doesn’t play by anyone’s books.

So, I would say happy burstday to him!

The parada is a thinly veil "threat",  since it is not done regularly.

Its a show of might to others watching - domestic and outside of US - defy me and I will crush you.

Trump is known to contradict himself many times over, in the past & present, so there is no surprise there despite the hefty expenses, just forget about National Debt for now..

All that could be said about Americans is "you make the bed, so lie in it" - no ?

With that amount of money 💰, lots of ppl will benefit if the money are distributed to the less fortunate & keep the military parade to a minimum. Wouldn't that leave a positive Note 🎶 & Better image [Wow] BUT Trump being Trump... it won't happen [Helpless].... still Happy Birthday 🎂 @Barcode @Shernice軒嬣 2000 @Shyon @JC888 @koolgal

"Trump Coin" and related stock transactions, such so-called tokens, carry enormous risks. Their underlying value lacks solid support, relying more on celebrity hype for speculation. Price fluctuations are highly susceptible to artificial manipulation, posing great uncertainty and market risks. Such investments often resemble a gamble filled with unknowns, where a single misstep could lead to losing all one's money. Therefore, to safeguard my property, I firmly refuse to participate in such investments!
