Exit Or Hold Tesla? Musk's America Party, Trump's Fury and Tesla's EV Empire on the Brink
🌟🌟🌟Elon Musk has just done what no CEO of a trillion dollar company ever dared - He launched a political party called the America Party, in open rebellion against Donald Trump. It is a libertarian fever dream, a tech billionaire tantrum and 100% market moving!
But here is the Trillion Dollar Question - Can Tesla survive Musk's political moonshot?
The America Party - How Analysts are Reacting
Wedbush's Dan Ives who is a long time Tesla bull didn't mince his words -
"Musk diving deeper into politics is exactly the opposite direction that most Tesla investors want him to take during this crucial period for Tesla."
He added that investors are feeling a "sense of exhaustion", not from Tesla 's fundamentals but from Elon Musk' s new political ambition.
Tesla's share price has dropped over 6% in pre market trading after the announcement.
Emory 's Alan Abramowitz said that it is "a billionaire' s fantasy with no ground game".
NBC warned "Musk has the money but not the machinery". Ballot access laws, donation caps and voter distrust make this a long shit.
The Fallout So Far
Trump said "We might have to put DOGE on Elon. You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon."
Trump had already threatened to revoke Tesla's subsidies and contracts. With MAGA supporters turning hostile, Tesla risks are becoming politically radioactive.
Tesla's Q2 deliveries have dropped 14% year over year with EV sales slumping in Europe and political backlash denting its brand.
Trump has even floated the idea of deporting Musk - yes really.
The Bull Case
Tesla's Robotaxi ambitions (Cybercab 2026) and AI driven FSD could reignite growth.
Margins are improving and Tesla's energy and battery businesses are quietly scaling.
Long Term forecasts by analysts still see Tesla hitting USD 545 to USD 718 by end of 2026 to 2027.
The Bear Case
Political risk is now existential. Trump's threat could strip Tesla of billions in subsidies.
Brand damage is real. Tesla is losing progressive buyers and MAGA loyalists alike.
EV competition is fierce especially from BYD in China.
Strategic Take -
Elon Musk's America Party maybe visionary but it is also volatile. Tesla is no longer just an EV company. It is now a geopolitical lightning rod.
For investors who believe in the long term AI and energy thesis, this dip could be a gift. However if you are risk averse or politically fatigued, it might be time to trim.
My Take - Tesla isn't just a stock. It is a referendum on Elon Musk's empire. Exit if you fear the fire. Hold if you believe that it will rise like a phoenix in the future.
