It is the 2nd largest Gold ETF after $SPDR Gold ETF(GLD)$ with a low expense ratio of 0.25% compared to GLD's 0.40%. This makes IAU a more cost effective option for long term investors while GLD offers higher liquidity, often beneficial for active traders.
The steady rise in Spot Gold isn't speculation. It is the market saying "I don't know what happens next but I know what protects me now."
