Lulu Drops for 3 Quarters: Back to 2020 Lows - Buy the Dip?

I’ve always been a fan of Lululemon. Their products—athletic apparel, footwear, and accessories—combine style, quality, and functionality in a way few brands manage. From sleek leggings to cozy hoodies, they make workout gear that people actually want to wear outside the gym. It’s no wonder Lululemon has cultivated such a loyal following. But when it comes to their stock, things have been rough lately. Lululemon (LULU) has now dropped for consecutive quarters, recently hitting levels not seen since 2020. The company topped second-quarter earnings estimates but slightly missed revenue expectations. More concerningly, Lululemon said the effect of tariffs and the removal of the de minimis exception are hitting its sales. Tariffs, competition, and headwinds from peers like Alo have weighed hea

$Lululemon Athletica(LULU)$    I lean slightly bearish in the near term, with risk that Lululemon remains under pressure until at least fiscal 2026 when some of the turnaround efforts (new styles, international ramp, cost mitigation) might start to show clearer results. The pessimistic case seems more plausible in the next 6–12 months unless management hits wins fast. However, this is not a broken brand—it has strong brand equity, good margins historically, loyal customers. So it’s more of a “wait & see, but high risk” scenario than a collapse. If I were an investor, I’d view current weakness as a possible entry point only if I saw signs of inventory improvement, product refresh working, and less margin

$Lululemon Athletica(LULU)$   My take: This is a multiple reset, not a broken brand. NA comps slowed, but DTC muscle + men’s + international keep the engine alive. What matters: inventory discipline, new product cycles, and whether China/Intl offsets softer North America. Gross margin is the tell. Framework: If growth normalizes to mid-teens with clean inventory, low-20s EBITDA multiples re-rate. If comps stay soft, it’s a value trap. Trade plan: Starter at capitulation near multi-year support; add only on improving inventory turns and traffic. Risk: fashion miss, markdowns, copycat pressure. LULU isn’t dead—it’s de-rated. I buy brands when the multiple resets and the product still walks off shelves.

The company has taken a significant hit, dropping back to 2020 lows after slashing its earnings outlook and projecting a $240 million tariff impact. It's tough to see a brand I've admired struggle, especially with a 56% year-to-date loss and a 20% drop in a single day during the last earnings report. Lululemon's 56% Crash to 2020 Lows: Dip Buy Dream or Tariff Nightmare?

$Lululemon Athletica(LULU)$ Lululemon's stock nosedived after slashing its full-year outlook, citing a $240 million tariff hit and sluggish U.S. sales, with Q2 earnings topping EPS estimates at $2.40 but missing revenue at $2.4 billion versus $2.41 billion expected. The company blamed tariffs and the de minimis exception removal for crimping growth, marking three straight quarters of declines and a 56% YTD loss to $265, back to 2020 levels. Competition from Alo further erodes market share, but international sales offer a glimmer. With the S&P 500 at 6,512.34, Nasdaq at 21,918.45, and Bitcoin at $123,456, the VIX at 14.12 reflects calm amid tariffs and oil at $74.50/barrel. Would you buy the dip on Lululemon? $Lululemon Athletica(LULU)$   Lululemon fell almost 18% in one day.  Big reasons: • They cut their full-year forecast again. • U.S. sales only grew 1%, which is weak. • Tariffs are hitting profits, costing them about $240M this year. • Analysts rushed to downgrade. Some even put price target at $150. That’s why the stock sank. But at today’s price, valuation looks much lower than before. If sales improve or holiday season is strong, it could bounce.

$Lululemon Athletica(LULU)$   International sales, especially in China, are accelerating and now comprise over a quarter of revenue, offsetting U.S. weakness and providing a path for future LULU growth. Lululemon maintains rich gross margins in the high 50s and holds hefty cash reserves, giving flexibility for buybacks or growth initiatives. Despite recent missteps and macro headwinds, I see more upside in this cheap rebound play (at just ~13x ex-cash P/E) than in expensive large-cap tech stocks at peak valuations.
