GTC can strengthen my conviction in Nvidia’s long-term story, but I would still want earnings numbers before becoming significantly more bullish. Jensen Huang’s keynote could provide important signals on the next computing roadmap, AI infrastructure demand, agents and physical AI. However, announcements and partnerships ultimately need to translate into revenue, margins and sustained data-centre growth. The recent pullback being driven by leveraged-position unwinding rather than deteriorating fundamentals would be encouraging, but valuation still matters after Nvidia’s strong run. So I’m watching GTC for the direction of the next growth cycle, while earnings remain the real confirmation. A compelling roadmap may improve sentiment quickly, but numbers showing strong demand and monetisation
I would pick electrical-grid construction for the strongest long-term potential. Semiconductors remain essential to AI, but expectations and valuations are already high, while rapid technology cycles create competitive risk. Power-generation equipment should also benefit, but demand can be more dependent on individual projects and capacity additions. Grid infrastructure looks like a broader bottleneck. AI data centres require enormous amounts of reliable electricity, and that means more substations, transmission lines, transformers and grid connections. Importantly, these investments can benefit not only AI but also electrification and general growth in power demand. Companies such as Quanta Services therefore interest me as a “picks and shovels” approach to the AI build-out. I would stil
My vote: B. Micron ($MU). Nvidia remains the strongest AI leader, but expectations are already extremely high. For a continued rebound, I think Micron offers an interesting combination of HBM growth and a broader memory-cycle recovery. AI servers require significantly more high-performance memory, so expanding HBM demand could support Micron’s revenue and margins. At the same time, stronger DRAM pricing would provide another earnings tailwind beyond HBM alone. The main risk is that memory remains cyclical. If competitors add capacity too aggressively, pricing could weaken again. But if HBM demand stays strong while conventional memory supply remains disciplined, Micron could still have meaningful earnings upside. For rebound potential rather than simply picking the strongest company, my c
I would choose B: Perfect Exit. Buying at the absolute bottom would be amazing, but I do not think a perfect entry is necessary to make a good investment. If the fundamentals are strong, buying reasonably close to the bottom can still produce excellent returns. Knowing the exact top seems far more valuable. It eliminates one of the hardest decisions in investing: deciding when optimism has gone too far. I could let winners run without worrying about selling too early, then exit before the reversal. My worst attempts at market timing usually come from waiting for an even better entry. Sometimes the market rebounds before my target is reached, and I end up buying higher or missing the opportunity altogether. So definitely B for me. I can tolerate an imperfect entry, but give me the perfect
My pick is PTC Therapeutics for the best balance of growth and risk. Belite Bio has an exciting near-term FDA catalyst, while Trevi Therapeutics and COMPASS Pathways could offer substantial long-term upside if their pipelines succeed. However, these opportunities carry greater clinical and regulatory risk. PTC already has commercial products and growing revenue, giving investors clearer fundamentals to evaluate. I would watch whether sales growth translates into stronger margins and cash flow. Belite may have greater short-term upside on a positive FDA decision, but for the most compelling overall investment case, I prefer PTC’s combination of commercial traction and future growth potential.
I believe electrical infrastructure and power generation will become increasingly important as AI data centers expand. Semiconductor companies may capture the initial excitement, but reliable electricity is essential to sustain AI growth. Among the three, I would keep $Quanta(PWR)$ on my watchlist for its exposure to grid expansion, while $Caterpillar(CAT)$ and $Cummins(CMI)$ also offer opportunities in power generation and backup systems. However, I would compare their valuations, earnings growth and cash flow before investing. I remain bullish on the long-term AI theme, but I wi
I would watch earnings delivery first, followed by trading participation and price momentum. Bitcoin's recovery is encouraging, but weaker spot trading volume suggests that market sentiment has not fully translated into stronger business activity for $Coinbase Global, Inc.(COIN)$ . I think Coinbase has long-term potential as crypto adoption expands and its product offerings diversify. However, higher marketing expenses and earnings volatility remain concerns. The $250 price target is worth considering, but I would not rely on analyst forecasts alone when making investment decisions. For me, confirmation matters more than anticipation. I would look for improving trading volumes, sustainable revenue growth and stronger profitability before becomin
I would choose $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ for the next year. While SpaceX’s AI growth is impressive, Tesla offers multiple growth drivers through FSD, Robotaxi, Optimus humanoid robots and energy storage, beyond its traditional automotive business. The potential $SpaceX(SPCX)$ merger is worth watching, but without confirmed terms, I would not invest based on speculation alone. SpaceX’s rapid expansion also comes with substantial capital expenditure, making cash flow and execution important factors. As a long-term Tesla investor, I remain bullish on its potential but will stay disciplined about valuation. For me, the real
I would choose A, Perfect Entry. Buying a good company at a lower price gives me a better cost basis and more room for long-term returns. Of course, nobody can consistently predict the absolute bottom, so I prefer dollar-cost averaging and adding on pullbacks rather than trying to time the market perfectly. My worst attempt at timing the market was buying too early during a dip, only to watch the stock fall further. It taught me that even when the long-term thesis is right, the entry price still matters, and patience is essential. These days, I focus more on fundamentals, technical support levels and risk management. I would rather build a position gradually and stay disciplined than chase the perfect entry. For me, consistency beats perfection in the long run.
Macro Strategy: Reversal or Dead Cat Bounce? Why Selling Puts Still Makes Sense
Weekly Report: Key Views Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of our Macro Strategy Weekly. Each issue features market strategy insights from selected contributors with relevant professional expertise. We also track how these views perform each week. Here is a preview of this week’s key ideas: 1. Nvidia Straddle Closed for Profit; Lock In Option Gains Promptly: The previously discussed Nvidia straddle has been closed at a profit. Investors still holding the position should consider taking profits promptly. Profitable calls bought at lower levels should also be monetized into the rebound before lower implied volatility, time decay and weaker buying erode returns. 2. US Equity Selloff May Be Near Its End, Creating Conditions for a Rebound: Leveraged ETFs recorded a sharp
Goldman Upgraded CoreWeave. Nebius Got the Bounce. Why the Neocloud Split Is About Balance Sheets, Not Demand Written Tuesday 20 Oct, SGT, using Monday's US closes. What happened on Monday Goldman Sachs analyst Gabriela Borges upgraded CoreWeave to Buy from Neutral. Usually that's enough to move a stock that's down 25% in a week. It wasn't. - CoreWeave: up about 2.2% intraday to $62.74, then reversed to close down 0.44% at $61.12 - Nebius: closed up 2.88% at $170.24, after rising as much as 4.64% intraday on a reiterated Truist Buy rating with a $355 target That's a gap of about 3.3 percentage points in one session between two companies that, a week earlier, traded as the same stock. Last week CoreWeave fell 25.21% and Nebius fell 25.15%, almost exactly the same. So the split started on Mo
The Number That Wasn't the Story: SpaceX's First Profit and the Merger That May Change Everything
The indices: Dow up, Nasdaq flat, a split that maps onto earnings week The three indices diverged on Tuesday: the $Dow Jones(.DJI)$ rose 1.02 per cent to 52,495.88; the $S&P 500(.SPX)$ rose 0.28 per cent to 7,712.57; the $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ was nearly unchanged, closing down 0.02 per cent at 26,424.82. The 10-year Treasury yield settled at 5.12 per cent. The Dow–Nasdaq split tracks the shape of this week's reporting calendar: technology names started spreading risk before the numbers are in, some moving forward, some pulling back. Memory: the CXMT overhang still has not cleared
$CIFR 20261023 8.0 PUT$ My view is cautious despite the potentially attractive AI-data-centre conversion story for Cipher Mining Inc. (CIFR) watchlist . The stock is no longer simply a Bitcoin miner: the investment case depends on converting its Texas power sites into HPC/AI hosting capacity. That may create a more contracted, less Bitcoin-sensitive revenue stream—but the current financials show this transition is capital-intensive and not yet self-funding. What is working Cipher reported that its first HPC data-centre capacity at Black Pearl was delivered two months early and had begun generating rent; it also said work at Barber Lake and Stingray was progressing. That is the central proof point for the AI-hosting thesis.
$SpaceX(SPCX)$ SpaceX's First Profit as a Public Company, and Musk's "Trillion-Dollar Revenue" Claim: I Fact-Checked the Viral Video and Ran It Through My Sell-Put Gates Written Wednesday 21 Oct, SGT, after Tuesday's report. A video about SpaceX's results is everywhere right now. Some of it is accurate, some isn't, and the most important numbers aren't in it at all. Here's what the company actually reported. The quarter in numbers - Revenue: $14.6 billion, up 161% year over year, against about $12.9 billion expected - Operating profit: $2.79 billion, after a $143 million operating loss in Q2 - Net income: $4.4 billion, or 35 cents a share against a 12-cent estimate. A year earlier it lost $1.1 billion. - Adjusted EBITDA: $8.8 billion One importan
$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ Facebook or Meta Platforms have been in the news lately with a series of successful artificial-intelligence launches which has given Meta Platforms fresh momentum heading into its third-quarter earnings report on Wednesday — and a reason to spend more. After being written off as an AI laggard for much of the past year, Meta shocked investors with the breakout success of its Muse agent and the recent launch of its Muse Wonder models. Shares of Meta have risen 14% since the launch of Muse in early September. The company is “back on offense with AI,” Bank of America analyst Justin Post wrote in a note last week, adding that further details about Muse adoption will be a main area of f
Meta vs Tesla: Two AI Giants, Two Very Different Paths to Growth
The market is approaching another important earnings test, and two of the biggest names in the AI investment story are in the spotlight. On Tuesday, the S&P 500 rose 0.28% to 7,712.57, while QQQ slipped 0.10% to $717.63. Netflix then fell more than 5% after hours following disappointing Q4 revenue guidance, reminding investors that even established technology companies can face pressure when expectations are high. Now attention turns to Meta and Tesla, both reporting after the market close. These companies represent two very different approaches to AI. Meta is using AI to strengthen an advertising business that already generates substantial revenue. Tesla is pursuing a broader transformation that could extend from electric vehicles into autonomous driving, robotaxis and robotics. Both
Why Singapore's Macro Shock Is Your Dividend Golden Ticket
🌟🌟🌟 Singapore's Q3 2026 GDP grew by a surprising 5.4% year on year, easily beating the 5% that economists predicted. But before you go ordering an extra plate of satay to celebrate, let's look at the speedometer: we have officially slowed down from the roaring 6.2% growth we enjoyed in Q2. Think of our economy like a top of the line sports car. We are still zooming down the ECP but we have shifted down a gear because the initial boost from the AI infrastructure wave is starting to normalise. The MAS pulled off a classic plot twist. 17 out of 20 institutional economists believed that MAS would tighten the monetary policy on Wednesday 14 October by steepening the SGD NEER slope. Instead MAS kept the monetary policy unchanged, hitting the pause button after 2 rou

Nvidia GTC Berlin: The Next AI Rally Needs More Than a Keynote 🚀
$NVIDIA(NVDA)$ is back in the spotlight, but this time the question is bigger than whether Jensen Huang can deliver another exciting presentation. Nvidia fell 0.29% on Tuesday to $216.47 as investors looked ahead to GTC Berlin, running from October 20 to 22. Huang’s keynote is expected to cover accelerated computing, AI infrastructure, open-source models, AI agents and physical AI. These are important areas for the next stage of AI development. However, after a powerful run in AI-related stocks, investors are increasingly asking a different question: How much of the future growth is already reflected in today’s share prices? I think that is the real issue facing Nvidia. 💡 1. The AI Story Is Expanding Beyond Chatbots The first phase of the AI
