Alibaba has proven that it doesn't need DeepSeek to be open-sourced, while Baidu, Doubao, etc. haven't proven themselves in this regard. It's possible that they could develop it even without DeepSeek, but they haven't demonstrated it. I'm just being conservative. I don't look at academic papers; I only focus on the actual results. I've interacted with people from these big companies and know that there's a huge gap between academic papers and actual technology.
