The stock market had a relatively volatile week. The S&P 500 lost over 1.5% on Tuesday as Fed Chair Jerome Powell told the Senate Banking Committee that the terminal fed funds rate “is likely to be higher than previouslyanticipated."
Following that, the stock market suffered another sharp decline as Fear overtook Wall Street when SVB Financial Group, a bank that lends mainly to technology companies, had to sell $1.75 billion in stock at a loss to cover rapidly declining customer deposits.

Not too long ago, the market sentiments is bullish as the indices bounce off rapidly from its low. However, the stubbornly strong economic data coupled with recent hawkish Fed remarks just triggered a sell-off for most stocks with tech taking the biggest hit.
Sell-offs can be daunting as you see your portfolio dives into the red or your profits getting eroded rapidly. However, it is imperative that one does not panic sell.
As Warren Buffet opines, be greedy when others are fearful. Fear-inducing events that triggered a sell-off can lead to good investment opportunities as long as the fundamentals of the companies invested remain intact. Look for the next key level to dollar cost average and be patient to reap the long-run benefits/returns.
