🌟🌟🌟With high inflation, I believe it is important to stay invested in stocks.  I am most  bullish on our Singapore banks especially $DBS GROUP HOLDINGS LTD(D05.SI)$

Even though its share price is down 4% in the last 5 days, DBS  4Q22 profit soared 68% as rising interest rates boosted its net interest margins.  I am also rewarded with a special dividend of 50 cents per share due to its strong earnings and rock solid balance sheet. DBS current dividend yield is 4.32%.

DBS is also the largest bank in Singapore by market capitalisation and the bellwether of Singapore economy.

I am currently up 35% on DBS and intend to hold it long term.

Even though  the Singapore government is increasing its handout to Singaporeans in 2023, it is insufficient to cover my rising costs of living.  Therefore I will continue to stay invested in quality stocks like DBS  to provide me with a steady source of passive dividend income.

The measures will help some Singaporeans more and it’s great but they don’t make a big difference in my life at this point in time because:(1)The handout’s too little to cover the level of inflation and GST increases😅 Is it a big help to you 🐯🐯🐯❓(2)I bought hospitalisation insurance. I support the proposed 2023 Budget. Various payouts, top-ups and tebates will be given to help Singaporeans in need to deal with higher inflation & GST increase. 1. Handouts in the form of CDC vouchers, Seniors’ Bonus Cash & Medisave top-ups are well-received. 2. Top up Eldercare Fund & MediFund are necessary. 3. Boosting job opportuni ties is very important. 4. Tax raise on higher-value properties, luxury cars, cigarettes is a good direction. 5. The effect of 15% effective tax rate on multinational enterprises are not clear yet. I have Losers stocks: AAPL ($1 from TiGR) & UOL (bought at $6.66🤪🤪🤪) Maybe i have a small profit now. I would like to pick “Keppel Reits” because its portfolio committed occupancy rate is 96.8%. With a potential increase in Distribution per Unit, investors / fund nanagers looking for high DPU have Keppel reit on their investment list. Keeping a long-term focus, Singapore announced measures to promote innovation by topping up the national productivity fund by S$4 billion. Businesses will enjoy tax deductions of up to 400% (previous 250%) of qualifying innovation expenditure under the new Enterprise Innovation Scheme. This brings positives for companies that invest in R&D, for instance $AEM HOLDINGS LTD(AWX.SI)$ ,$VENTURE CORPORATION LIMITED(V03.SI)$,$UMS HOLDINGS LIMITED(558.SI)$, $ISDN HOLDINGS LIMITED(I07.SI)$ and $Nanofilm(MZH.SI)$ @Tiger_SG

As a Singapore citizen I try to hit higher income and contribute my personal income tax. plus daily GST payment, I put a positive effort on government finance. The most outstanding, I and my wife gave one boy  and one girl to Singapore. I appreciate the government supports every year, it offset hard working family burden a little.

2023 Budget raise the indirect wealth tax to help the lower income citizens in need. 1. Increase handouts by GST vouchers and Cost of Living Special Payment are good. 2. Top up ElderCare Fund will come useful. 3. Boosting Job opportu nities is important. 4.Tax raise for higher-value properties, luxury cars & cigarettes is a correct direction. 5. The effect of 15% tax on multinational enterprises is not certain yet. Generally, I support this proposed budget. I have Losers stocks: 🤪UOL (bought at $6.66) & AAPL. Maybe i have small profit. I’ll pick Keppel REIT because its portfolio committed occupancy rate is 96.8%. It benefit from the strong demand for data centres across all markets. This guarantees its revenue. Its dividend/ DPU is currently 5.1% that is well covered by earnings. Investors / fund managers looking for high DPU have Keppel Reit on their list. The budget in a way helps in cushioning rising costs of living.
I have owned and traded some of the abovementioned stocks n made some gains. Still owned some.
Will pick up Keppel reits and a few others along the way to reap some dividends and enjoy passive dividends to cope with inflationary pressure.

@Tiger_SG

I'm a poor man so I probably gained more from handouts than lost on the increased taxes on various stuff. I have some of the stocks mentioned, especially $Apple(AAPL)$ and $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ . But I doubt they will be very much affected. The most bullish SGX stock for 2023? I'll probably say it could be $MSCI China Electric Vehicles and Future Mobility ETF-NikkoAM(EVS.SI)$

2023 Budget raise for sure can help the lower income or senior old citizens,so It didnt impact me that much. I had trade $SHENG SIONG GROUP LTD(OV8.SI)$ before during covid period, it is a stable stock (doesnt floating around) plus they give dividend (even though not much). I prefer to  buy and hold banm stock such as $DBS GROUP HOLDINGS LTD(D05.SI)$ $OVERSEA-CHINESE BANKING CORP(O39.SI)$.

Various schemes under the enhanced Assurance Package including increased cash payouts, additional CDC and GST vouchers and U-Save rebates, newly introduced Cost-of-Living Special Payment will certainly help to mitigate the rising cost of living from inflation and GST hikes. Even though I’m either not eligible or entitled to only small payouts, I’m still grateful to the policy makers for not forgetting the sandwich generation that I belong.
While I welcome the higher CPF monthly salary ceiling to help Singaporean better prepare for retirement, I hope that the CPF annual ceiling will be lifted over time.
Nevertheless, not all is good for me in this budget announcement, as I’m looking to purchase a landed property and the hike in buyer stamp duty is going to result in higher tax payment. I’m most bullish on $GENTING SINGAPORE LIMITED(G13.SI)$ as I believe that some of the payouts and savings will be going to discretionary spendings that will benefit the integrated resorts.

A beneficiary of Budget 2023 will be supermarket chain $SHENG SIONG GROUP LTD(OV8.SI)$, which will see higher business volume as Singaporeans make good use of their additional cash handouts or vouchers.Suburban mall proxy $FRASERS CENTREPOINT TRUST(J69U.SI)$also benefits as supermarkets and grocers occupy about 10% of total net leasable area (NLA). Food courts are also among top 10 tenants by NLA within these heartland malls. Hence, I am bullish on both $SHENG SIONG GROUP LTD(OV8.SI)$ and $FRASERS CENTREPOINT TRUST(J69U.SI)$ @Tiger_SG

@Tiger_SG
